Learning to live (and be myself) again

Learning to live (and be myself) again

I've been through some major highs and lows since i recieved my diagnosis. And by highs and lows i mean stages of good and bad health. Stages of working and unemployment. Bouts of depression and anxiety on a daily basis....I've had all sorts of stuff going on basically.

Good morning every one. I hope you all have a reasonable day .

The common theme of my mental and physical condition is becoming somewhat frustrating and bewildering.

Plus . My lifestyle is pretty lousy and down in the dumps . Just gotta get on with it though i suppose.

Some things we can make changes to to help ourselves @eudemonism and you have already mentioned that you do want to do that - so goodluck with doing what you need to do to improve your current lifestyle - it is not easy to make those changes but the can benefit us in the long run.

Re: Learning to live (and be myself) again

Hi @eudemonism it's really reassuring to see that you have insight into what's going on for you, and the desire to change some things. It really sounds like you've turned a corner and I hope getting your meds today will also help you feel a bit better.

I have also dealt with the challenge of an addiction - for me it was chronic and for decades. Finally beat it about 7 years ago, but it took several attempts - it's natural to have relapses but they are not failures - each time you get back on the horse a bit sooner and see how it's really affecting you more clearly. Looking back I probably spent the cost of a house on it over the years. And somehow always made rent and family costs despite always being on a pension.

Just wanted you to know you are not alone with addiction challenges. I know there are others here too.

Take care today.

@Zoe7 i am basically always stressed out about something . And have to remind myself to be mindful and breathe. Otherwise i get worked up into a complete state of despair .

@eth your story offers me a little hope eth . However for the moment I'm just going to have to make a decision and put one foot after the other . And literally hope it's the right thing to do . Better then being stuck i suppose .

Be strong @eudemonism I am sure you will get there in time. I used to tell myself 'less is less' on the days I couldn't kick it.

Hello @eudemonism

Thank you for tagging me..

I cannot remember seeing this thread before...

I struggle these days keeping up with so many threads ...the forum is so huge now..

I have always thought that you are a survivor regardless of your past and present..

As I know that your day to day life can be so difficult to manouvre at different stages of your medication regime..

One foot in front of the other is a brilliant message to send yourself when life is just blech..

keep on moving I tell myself when my depression overpowers me..

Great to see that you have so much support happening for you here and other places around the busy forum

take care as always..

Sophia
