Offbeat Sayings, Or The Art Of Wisdom By Trial And Error
Hello to all you lovely people... For years now, I've been writing little Hallmark-moment-style wisdoms. I call them "offbeat sayings, or the art of wisdom by trial and error". Some of them are okay I guess. All of them are a lot of fun to write. I find it a totally different head space to writing poetry or short stories... I went through a phase where I was into mysticism. I wrote some wisdoms based on that perspective, some serious, some just for fun... Here's hoping they get a chuckle or a pondering raised eyebrow from just one other person... Hugs, my lovelies... 🙂

What do I think about time? Two words... quantum physics... time starts to get weird somewhere around the Copenhagen Interpretation. Turn left into quantum entanglement and the observer effect influencing experimental outcomes when the wave function collapses... quantum superposition and all that weird stuff... Schrödinger's cat chasing Pavlov's drooling dog out of the house...
Or not...
Or both...
Tick tock, Clarice...

Being bipolar and having no money is tough. Being bipolar and having enough money to satisfy your urges is tougher...

Re: Offbeat Sayings, Or The Art Of Wisdom By Trial And Error
I don’t like “games” – those manipulative and hurtful things that petty, ignorant and scared people do to others. It saddens me to the core…
I walk barefooted over the sharp and pointy rocks without flinching, for I am grateful even for the pain…
In life, you cannot dance to everyone else’s tune but your own, and still expect to be happy…
I love sand. In the unimaginably distant past of our species, art and writing were created through the medium of sand. Idle scrawls by hand, stone or stick sparked a need to express something mystical through creativity. Later came refinements such as an SOS set in stones, a sand castle, a sand sculpture, a message in a bottle…
You must be silent in order to listen…
I find that I learn more with my mouth shut and ears open than the other way round…
We are respectful and grateful travellers. We try to leave each place we visit better than it was before we came (sometimes even by just leaving a place alone). Call it a life philosophy, if you will…
It’s always possible for each of us to mindfully and sensibly reduce the size and depth of the footprint that we leave on our beloved Mother Earth…
Ima stop feelin’ sorry for who I am…
Ima stop apologisin’ for who I am…
Ima stop beatin’ up on me…
Ima live it…
I have lived forever and will live forever, for I am living in the blessed forever Now…

Wow @Silenus
I thought I would take a look and see what else was on other forums here
I am amazed by what you have written but I can't read it all right now - I have to get back to it - at some point pitch in myself because I have been thinking stuff like that for decades - and I love it.
Here's is where I am at - in my own thinking - that when people live their lives looking inward with the intention of improving their lives and helping other people - then their soul grows and takes up more and more space in another dimension - and this could be heaven - who knows
But there was this Middle Eastern guy ages ago who went of into the wilderness and had conversations with the bad guy out there and came back and told us all he could about the life in the spiritual realm
So I have just joined you @Silenus - this kind of quest for a Holy Grail - which can be anything - is something I am really interested in

Thank you so much for your response @Decadian
I gratefully welcome fellow travellers. Life is a wondrous journey..
I love your thought about souls growing in another dimension when good is done...
Wisdom comes from wandering in the wilderness, Middle Eastern or otherwise... hahaha...
Sending hugs and happy vibes your way...

@Silenus
I really enjoy reading what you write - and I think that people who live open and honest lives will feel the pain of this life - but will learn from it and act in a compassionate and gentle way with other people
Kindness is more than giving in the open - it is more than one big act. It's continued gestures of generosity over time - whether they are accepted or not. And it is not always material things that count - but time.
Time is the most valuable thing we have - and the more we give our time the better our time will be.
What is the use of a long life if one does not give of their spirit?
We need to occupy our thoughts with things we would like to think about at the end of our lives - at first we are likely to be involved with acts of acquistition - but as time passes and we gather enough to live on - or thoughts can turn inward and we become involved with inquisition -
And the self-questioning soul can live a long time because in doing so that space of spirituality grows and can outlast the time the body can spend in this existence

Wow @Decadian ... beautifully written words of great wisdom. I see many life philosophy similarities with my own. Same goes for @eth - she definitely seems on the same page too... 🙂
From acquisition to inquisition... love it!
We walk our path through life. Each step is a choice...
Many people look for meaning. Why are we here, and all that business. I did that... I studied all the -ologies and -isms all the way back to Zoroastrianism and into shamanisms...
The Mahabharata was a little confusing - cast of thousands, like an ancient version of Game Of Thrones... hahaha...
I came full circle. My life is simple - I do not care to delve into any type of afterlife. This life I have is amazing. This gift of life, of consciousness... sure it's painful. But it's also magnificent!
What need do I have to speculate on what may or may not await me upon my death? I'll find out soon enough...
In the meantime, there is life. Right here. Right now...
Peace, love and happy vibes beaming your way @Decadian

With age, life changes come…
I am grateful to all of the Universe for allowing me to dream…
The point of the Past is not to dwell on it, but rather to learn or unlearn from it, and then return to The Now hopefully wiser…
All rise for the wise Oracle who sees the future unerringly… [Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle. Clears throat.] One day, you will die…
The very moment you think you’ve got it all worked out, remind yourself that you haven’t…
My self medication ain’t self destruction. It’s occasional scaffolding for my self reconstruction…
We must try to remember to feed and nurture all of the beings within us, for else they can weaken and even die. By withholding love, we become self killers of our Physical, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, Loving, Nurturing, Inquisitive, Mystical, Playful, Creative, Unique selves…
We overfeed the physical and starve the spiritual for too long at our own risk. There isn’t enough “stuff ” in the Universe to fill the hole in our whole…
I am a writer. Just about anything anyone else sees in me is subsidiary to that (Love is exempted from this, for Love drives me most). It is how I process the Universe and communicate with it. It is the eternal quest for something beyond myself that may, Universe willing, outlive me and give others a few moments of pleasure or pause for thought…
In life I am childless. Instead, I lovingly and playfully nurture these words together to form sentences that I am pleased enough with to let go out into the world. My wordy little children, playing with their toys (which, incidentally, are your minds, dear readers)…
The firefly – a perfect metaphor for my bipolar… my bio luminescence flares up briefly… I shine… sometimes, people notice my magnificent display… I flare as bright as the sun… and then I extinguish back into the supreme all-consuming darkness… only to flare again later in another fiery arc… flash… pause… flash… pause… flash…
