Hi @GingerWhinger and @Appleblossom
Wonderful to read that all was a success with your concert and sons birthday - way to go my friend. You are one talented lady and accomplish much. Must be a really good feeling. How are things going with your estranged daughter?
Yes, it is hard watching them grow up - in my daughters case with her making the same mistakes that caused her decline in the first place. Sometimes I feel it will be never ending - but I pull back to focusing on one day at a time when feeling overwhelmed like that. And when I have some peace I try and enjoy it stitching or going out with hubby and my friend.
My life is very simplistic but it's all I can cope with presently. I do wish I could achieve more - especially in helping others. Feeling a bit like I am not moving forward at the moment. We will miss seeing less of you around here @Appleblossom - I was growing quite fond of you. It always seems that when I feel this with people they move away (probably just my state of mind as that's just life and people grow and move on with their lives - that's the way it should be). You need to do what is good for you and I wish you all the best in that ❤️
@GingerWhinger - I perfectly understand that you can not always reply straight away as you are facing your own struggles. Is the memory lapse on the weekend a result of the ECT? Working our brain towards the positive the best we can is all we can do. And any achievement (getting a bit done around the house) is a step forward and a good thing. Well done you.
For both of us it is baby steps. I have good days and bad - but nothing stays the same for me. Only the love of my husband and friend is consistent. Anything else I take in my stride. What else can we do? I still gain joy from my cross stitch which is simplistic but good. My job at the charity shop is becoming a bit more challenging as those who were working beside me that I had a great working relationship have left and the new recruits do not want to be there (work for the dole). And they are rude and upset the customers who are vulnerable people. This is all needed but will push through and see how I go. I won't let them push me out as then my husband would leave also ( he is chairman of the board) and a lot of good in the community would be lost. Too high a price.
But my husbands safety is also at risk as he manages the place and people on drugs can come in and canbecome volitile- not to mention some of the workers. Most of the homeless are just so grateful and courteous though and they tell us we make them feel like "someone" - make them feel like human beings as everyone else treats them like dirt making them feel worthless (their words) Not sure what to do at present.
Thinking of you and will talk soon. Lots of love xx
