The Beer Garden

The Beer Garden

i encourage you all to join me for some casual drinking, social lubrication and light laughter right here in the beer garden.

Oh and before anyone gets up in arms about alcohol and its dangers the main beer on tap is VB or virtual beer

beer is the third most commonly consumed drink in the world behind water and tea

why not share the worlds joy with friends

Re: The Beer Garden

@Former-MemberNo I didn't watch the criciket. I don't get free to air TV - no reception - and I'm not sure it was on foxtel. I'll check today. How is it going?

OH here's something coincidenal then.. I was going to be named Tanya but at the last minute by Dad said "Tanya bum" so that was tossed out. But being the precocious child I was, it probably would have been suited I mean seriously.. just look at the hair.. says it all really. 😛

Re: The Beer Garden

@Former-Member, the cricket isnt televised on free to air at all. It is only on Foxtel. Channel 503 I think it is on. Given that you are a sporting nut like myself, I'm assuming you would have the sporting channels as part of your package? Well, I expect you would have already heard that the Aussies won the first Test last week, so are one up in the series? The second test at the end of day 3, seems to be tipping towards India I think. The Aussies held an 89 run lead after the first innings. The Indians in their second innings are now 4/213 thus having a lead now of 126 runs. On a pretty bad wicket it will be hard for the Aussies to chase down anything over 150, much less 200. So they need quick wickets first up today. It starts at 3pm NSW time, 12noon WA time.

Oh yeah, I get you about the name Tan-ya! Yep, the hair, it says a lot I think. Very expressive hair you have! Actually I really like your profile pic. I have had the teapot forensically tested and it is alcohol free, so dont worry.

Morning to you too @Kurra

So does anybody have anything good happening today that they would like to share? I will be off to the gym in about half an hour. My 3rd Yoga/Pilates class. I will push myself to get there. It is an effort, but I need to make it. Good thing that tea turned out alcohol-free, or I would have had an excuse not to drive.

Re: The Beer Garden

@Former-Member oh good, I will have a look. I have a small confession.... I don't support the Aussies in cricket unless they are playing the Poms. I used to but after the years they got all "aren't we so great" I went off them. However I still can't support the Poms... nup just can't do it. 😛

I really like Virat Kohli is he playing?

I'll go swimmig later or maybe just jump on the tready not really sure yet. Probably should get out so going to the pool would be better.

Re: The Beer Garden

@Former-Member. Yes I agree that there was a period that the Aussie cricket team all had 'big heads', but I think they got over that. A few losses and some lost series will usually do the trick there. ha ha.

Yes Virat Kohli is playing, he is the captain of course. He had a poor first test by his standards, given that the is recognised as probably the best batsman going around at the moment. But he is out already in the second innings, so you wont get to see him bat in this test. Support the Poms! Ahh sacrilage. I went to the Boxing Day Ashes test match in Melb about 10 years ago, it was great.

I was thinking of having a swim at the gym after my yoga class, but I dont really feel like it today. I think the Yoga will be enough this week. Speaking of which, I need to head off. Catch you another time.

Waving as I run out the door ................. b y e

Re: The Beer Garden

Hello Anyone

I feel totally strung out like a stretched bow string about to give way, or wound up like a spring about to sputter. I feel like I'm on the edge of the abyss about to topple into it head first. I'm scared if I don't uncover the reason and source soon I'm going to go down again. 😞 I need a coffee!!

Re: The Beer Garden

The source isn't always obvious @Former-Member. Sometimes there is no source. The slide down the greasy pole is not an absolute so I temind myself that everyone has bad hair days from time to time and continue doing what I would have been doing anyway.

I err on the side of a bad hair day and expect to wake up the next day in a better frame of mind. And often enough all those seemingly sinister feelings wete merely a day when I got out of the wrong side of the bed.

It's simplistic but I do know that it's possible to make the greasy pole even greasier merely by thinking about the inevitability of an approaching depression and thereby speeding up the descent.

Sounds dumb but I have found this to be so.

Thinking of you 💕 🎶 💕
