The Beer Garden

The Beer Garden

i encourage you all to join me for some casual drinking, social lubrication and light laughter right here in the beer garden.

Oh and before anyone gets up in arms about alcohol and its dangers the main beer on tap is VB or virtual beer

beer is the third most commonly consumed drink in the world behind water and tea

why not share the worlds joy with friends

Re: The Beer Garden

Hi @utopia

You are right - Ratsak is a terrible poison - it gives animals a terrible death and I think it's too bad for rats and mice even - I have never used it

I had a cat - like nearly 40 years ago now - she was small but caught 7 rats in a few weeks but she never at them - she would drag them around to the back door and leave them there as presents - and she moused too - - egad I hate mice!!!!!!

But that cat died of a stroke in her old age - the cat I have now used to mouse and eat them - I think one thing about that poison is that it makes the rats and mice so sick they are unlikely to be running around and cats are wary of that - mousing is part of feline behaviour and the mouse has to be active or the cat gets suspicious - but still - all the years my current cat moused and ate them - mouse breath is revolting btw - I never thought about Ratsak -

She doesn't go outside much now but I will watch for that in case she does eat a tainted bait - eough -

Last night she went out and wouldn't come in - and there was a car wanting to go past and I couldn't catch her but I got her out of the way - when I did catch her I gave her the "Norty gurl,, bad cat!!!!" and she knew better that approach me for a while

We love our pets too @TAB - they are all precious - I know it was a long time since Tomcat - but the memories stay with us

@TAB @Decadian. When we took in the Jack Russell - we discovered he is a brilliant ratter - quick death and leaves them alone. My Labrador on the other hand is a bit of a goof ball. She'll play with anything - even a bee. She's not the brightest. Just wants to play &amp; then gets upset when they die.<br>My maltese/shitzu - she's different. A bird flew into our bathroom once - and kept flying into the mirror until it knocked itself out. Little Abbey picked it yp and carried it to her bed and gently put it down. Then came and got me - so that I could help it. She's a very gentle soul. All my dogs are just such different perdonalities. They are fun to watch.

My mum`s cats used to do that-- brought in a bird haf his size.and then she would get smacked for bringing in a bird @Appleblossom

@Shaz51@appleblossom @TAB @Decadian. Isn't ot nice that your cat thinks part of a bird mouse or rat is the sort of present you would like. Lol
Me, I prefer chocolate!

Re: The Beer Garden

Hello! Sorry I've been away a little while. I agree on the rat poison - nasty stuff. We can't use it around our house as we also have chooks and a cat. I had no idea chooks would hunt mice, but I unfortunately witnessed a pretty gross hunt from them a while back so won't use any poisons just in case. @TAB - my cat likes to bring me live mice and drop them on my feet when I'm watching tv. Not much fun!
