The Beer Garden

The Beer Garden

i encourage you all to join me for some casual drinking, social lubrication and light laughter right here in the beer garden.

Oh and before anyone gets up in arms about alcohol and its dangers the main beer on tap is VB or virtual beer

beer is the third most commonly consumed drink in the world behind water and tea

why not share the worlds joy with friends

That was what happened to me too @Faith-and-Hope. If it was all me then his problems were deflected. When I told him he was hurting the kids and pushing them away I was told it was all in my imagination and i was over reacting. I hope things work out.

@utopia Ive missed you around a bit. How are things going for you?

Re: The Beer Garden

Hi @Former-Member. Miss you too. Sometimes get busy just responding to replies or new members. But I miss talking with my friends here too.
Bit of an up and down weekend. Sad that my old friend couldn't make it this weekend. But being sad is ok. That's not as overwhelming as other emotions. So I was able to just sit with sadness for a while.
Which is good. Been a while since I was able to sit with an emotion and just accept it.
How has your long weekend been?

Re: The Beer Garden

Hi @utopia Why is sitting with our emotions one of the hardest things to do? I've only recently just sat with sadness for the first time. Normal weekend for us in SA but it was very up and down. I kept busy for much of it. It always helps to have a reset from hospital. Most of my weekend was reassessing priorities and cleaning. After 5 days out of action the kids had not done a dish and used nearly every dish in the house including nearly every pot and pan including the roasting ones. Needless to say I came home from hospital and got grumpy. I think today is the first day I've felt a little human for what seems a long time.

I hope you get some better weather and things go ok for you to reset a bit too. Are you seeing your psychologist this week?

Hi @Appleblossom

I am glad to receive your message. I start my volunteer course in two days. Would a walk help or some time in the sunshine? I've just came home from the shops and planning on making a salad and grilled salmon for tea. Hope u have a nice nite............

Hi @Former-Member

Good to hear you been outside today and getting some exercise.

Goodluck tomorrow with your exercise program.

I'm having a stress and echo heart test tomorrow and late afternoon my EP session.

I am feeling a bit anxious but I know I can move through it.

Re: The Beer Garden

@Former-Member. Sounds like my son. Using every dish in the house. I think I would have screamed like a banshee. So you did pretty well.
Why is it hard to sit with an emotion? Probably because we have never been taught to. If you cry, people get uncomfortable and want to 'fix' you. Where sometimes it is simply better to cry, release that emotion and move on. I'm a work in progress.
I saw my psychologist last Thursday - which was good. Helped me cope better with this weekend. So I'll see him again next Thursday.
Am almost at the end of day 6 of no drinking again. So bit emotionally shaky. But I'll order a lemonade here later. Maybe with a dash of raspberry cordial. Tall icy glass.
I hope you at least get to stop tomorrow for this ridiculous horse race.
