The Beer Garden

The Beer Garden

i encourage you all to join me for some casual drinking, social lubrication and light laughter right here in the beer garden.

Oh and before anyone gets up in arms about alcohol and its dangers the main beer on tap is VB or virtual beer

beer is the third most commonly consumed drink in the world behind water and tea

why not share the worlds joy with friends

Haha! Even a monkey in there.

My family were meant to be farmers. Started off that way, plans changed. Spent lots of holidays on the farm when young. Lovely memories.

Hi @Decadian 😀

Re: The Beer Garden

we only ate them so as not to waste them re rabbits I think @Decadian ..got a big old Hare once, that was interesting if you thought rabbits were gamey lol ..shcool friends parents used to make homemade kfc with them in pressure cooker, they swore it tasted the same as kfc. Yes, because was in the Army forever ago have fired all sorts of things, machineguns etc, used grenades .scarey fun for a 17year old lol ..anyway not trying to go to 'gun-happy' here ..havent had one for 30 years, and think will leave it at that, just memories etc

Thanks @Former-Member i do find mindfulness works sometimes but when I hit a certain level of distress I'm afraid it all goes out the window. It sounds like things are working out better for you with this psychologist 💜Thanks for your response. I'm feeling pretty tired and going to say goodnight.

Hi @Shaz51 @Decadian, @TAB, I hope you are all well💜😊

Re: The Beer Garden

Yep - I never ate a hare @TAB - and good memories

Another thing we ate from the land was mushrooms - I was scared of bulls and knew they were in the paddocks at certain times - and why - and it was not my favourite thing hopping around the cow pats to find the mushrooms

I hate them - which is unreasonable because everyone of them is a real fungi

Oh I remember the scary bulls @Decadian @TAB 😯🐂🐃

And the cow poop. Never stand behind a cow. I learnt that quick. 😯😂

Re: The Beer Garden

we didnt get mushrooms to often @Decadian, but some 'bumper' years, used to find them under pine trees that were planted as windbreaks near house, and yes, used to walk around closer paddocks with wheelbarrow collecting cow pats for veg garden. At 'peak' we had two milk cows of our own, at 60 hens maybe, we used to sell them and the eggs plus fresh eggs every day, not year old ones like in shops now, 4 pigs at a time, and veg garden was about 8metres by 8 metres maybe and had strawberries, best tomatos ever, cabbages potatos rhubarb cucumbers caulis etc and yes there were beef cattle and sheep and crops but they belonged to people who owned the farm

Hi and goodnight @Former-Member

I will be off myself pretty soon

We have a public holiday on Tuesday - the Melbourne Cup - and I have backed the same three numbers for 12 years and had 5 wins - it's the number not the horse

So I guess you don't get a holiday this time @Former-Member - so we will see you around
