Partners who chose to stay for the long haul

Partners who chose to stay for the long haul

Living and loving someone with MI presents relationship challenges and often others cannot see why we chose to stay with our partners.

Being mindful of not intruding on others stories I thought having a thread where we can share tips and encourage one another would be of value.

@Shaz51 Thanks for asking. Getting my head around things more. Life sucks but just have to make the most of ok days. Hubby got upped another 1/2 tab on Monday. Fingers crossed we start to see improvement soon. His bother is coming down to visit for a few days so hopefully it goes well. I know he’ll be exhausted from socialising. He hasn’t told his brother about his situation. We went out for tea last night (His idea as he’s trying to do stuff with me. I rather stay home and him give me a hug), went early before it got busy & he coped ok. I’ve asked him to be mindful of how he answers me as he blurts out Yes like he’s angry. I know he’s not but it sounds that way and it’s hard to let it not hurt my feelings especially when he can’t give hugs at all. Hoping everyone is having a nice Easter break 😊

Hi @Gusday

Just back from walking the dog noticed you checked in - how are things going?

Hi guys! Hope you are coping. I'm in a hole again...Can't seem to do anything right. Have this awful chest feeling of impending doom. It's been a really hard week, I seem to fail at everything I try, I don't see the right signals only to hear about them later on from my Mr "I really did want to do it, looked forward to it, pity we didn't do it". Am I this blind and selfcentred that I can't see it? This chest feeling is chewing me up. Mr sleeps alot, basically every afternoon 3h at least. I don't think it's a good sign but at the same time he doesn't seem to sleep much at night. I feel like It's all my fault. Like I am the reason for his depression, i'm making it worse.
