Happiness

Happiness

I just need to share this: for the first time in so very long, today I actually feel happy. Nothing particularly exciting happened - in fact something unpleasant occurred. It hasn't taken my pleasure away. I had a picnic lunch with another mother and our children. We sat in the sun, on some grass near a playground.
We initially sat somewhere else, and were moved on for being inadvertently on "private" land, but it didn't upset me. It was a simple, enjoyable time. And I feel happy. I think I'd forgotten how that feels.
I feel light. This is wonderful. Wow!

Re: Happiness

Yea so... @Former-Member this sense of achievement thing is a pretty broad subject... quitting smokes, quitting drugs, managing my consumption of alcohol, managing my coffee intake, eating healthier, being more active, more time outdoors, more time socializing with good people, start career / business or find employment, walking more, fishing, camping, travelling, gardening, celebrations, (*church ) social groups. -my life has evolved into what it is. And it ain't that easy to change things around.

Re: Happiness

Hi @Former-Member, it took me a year to figure out these forums properly, still learning bits. And its hard to remember everyone. My advise would be to pull back but don't leave. Pop in now & then. It helps me to post without it mattering, without any expectations_and I often get pleasantly surprised. Like real life its hard to have too many close friends. Chin up 😀

Your words "the Lord moves in mysterious ways" reminded me of a song in the series 'Touched by an Angel' especially this week because the lady who sang it, Della Reese, died Sunday age 86 RIP. This is some of the lyrics:

The Lord moves in mysterious ways
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.

Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sov’reign will.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.

His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flow’r.

Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.

Re: Happiness

Hello @Former-Member

I think what others meant was that if there are times when the forums become too much, it is okay to take a break from them, and many members do this from time to time, that was a response to your original post on the 1st page of this thread where you mentioned that you thought about leaving the SANE forums. Sometimes taking a break is more helpful then leaving the forums entirely as the support is still there when you return from your break.

And that is completely your choice, no one wants you to leave, you have been very supportive of others in these thread and they are responding well and with care for you, not that they want you leave.

Please feel free to clarify everyone else, I don't mean to speak on your behalf but more to help @Former-Member feel less distress right now as that is certainly what we don't want.

Please take care of yourself okay 🙂
