Low mood

Low mood

I have schizoaffective disorder and I am suffering from low mood today. Not sure why? I just feel sad.

I went for a walk to the park with the kids and I just felt depressed and awful, all I wanted to do was to lye down on the bed.

The thing is I start training for a new job tomorrow so I should be happy but I don't really feel it, I just feel down.

Does anyone have any tips to pull you out of a low mood?

Re: Low mood

I often feel this way...

the way that I get through it is to sit quietly at the end of each day and give myself some ME time. It doesn’t matter whether I laugh or cry, it’s just about me and my feelings.

I have been going to counseling through mental health for years and I have learnt a lot about myself, my childhood, my family and how I react to things and people around me.

I am truly a great person and I give credit to my beautiful father who I lost 4 years ago.

He gave me strength and unconditional love 💕. I will be forever grateful for that because it is constantly making me stronger.

Gravitate to someone who can give you this strength...

I know I don`t do it enough @Lilyq, @Bunniekins, @Teej, @Supercoolguy

We had a "Topic Tuesday" about "Mindfulness", very interesting , it is about focusing in the Now

I will try to include the link for you to read

Re: Low mood

@Shaz51 I just recently completed a course on ACT which included mindfullness. It has been very helpful plus my psych is incorporating it into our sessions.

Re: Low mood

Hi @Bunniekins @Shaz51 @Nay69 @Teej @Supercoolguy I ended up having a good day at work, I had training.

It feels weird to be back at work after all this time. I am a bit nervous about starting the job, yet I also feel excited. Hopefully this up feeling can continue as I hate having a low mood.

Practicing mindfulness is extremely useful. I have done courses on mindfulness in hospital.
