@Snowie
That’s a very good question. I don’t know you’re situation. I feel like i am stripped back more and more to the core. For a long time I felt there was something ‘off’ - I still can’t explain it but I feel ill either survive and thrive or lose the battle.
When I’m upset I lose touch with what I have left, which is a lot! I’ve lost my career and many (fake) friends, I’ve excluded many out of my life, but I’ve still got a lot to lose. And I am grateful for that.
But when I get really confused I remember nothing, I just want to stop the pain. It’s as if there’s another part of me that comes in and makes decision. I am tired of fighting that other part, keeping the upper hand, keeping things together and staying alive

@Former-Member

I have pstd from both childhood and adult trauma's, anxiety and depression. I think navigating our way through our MI is super hard sometimes. I feel I have pushed away many friends and have become almost a hermit now.

I can understand that tired feeling. Everyday trying to fight those thoughts. I often wonder if I would still be here if it wasn't for my hubby and the kids. Would I have given up by now. So I guess we have to remind ourselves that we are fighting to stay alive ultimately for ourselves. We deserve a better life, we deserve a life where our MI does not control us. To find out what we can become.

@Snowie our stories seem alike. I have trauma from childhood and then separate youth and adolescent. I’m sorry you had so much pain

Re: how long can i hold on?

@Former-MemberI am sorry too that you have had to go through that.

I like this forum because I find I can relate to others who have gone through similar experiences as myself, yet at the same time it saddens me knowing that many others have had to go through the pain of trauma.

Hi @Snowie I feel for you. I have trauma from childhood ptsd and at times I wonder where would I be if I didn't have my husband children and grand daughter. Take care. Xxoo

Re: how long can i hold on?

Good morning @Snowie @BlueBay @Former-Member @utopia @TAB

I hope you're all ok. Thank you so much for getting me through last night, I was a bit lost.

This morning I will think about things I can do today to make this day a better day.

@Snowie how do you manage your days without the routine of work? Or do you still have routine with your kids? I find routine a hard part and normally leave the self-care to last, and miss it.

@BlueBay hello and I am sorry you are in pain too.

I always get mixed up with my diagnosis, but it's complex PTSD, depression and anxiety.

Hi hope you all plan a little self-care today.

Re: how long can i hold on?

Morning @Former-Member

I find the kids help in a routine. They are still at school so take them and pick them up most days. Some days I find I can make a list and do a few things. Other days are just surviving days. These days I don't get anything done. I have realised that it is ok to have those days.

I have found that I have withdrawn from alot of friends. They will ask me for coffee or lunch and I normally make up an excuse as to why I cannot go.
