Another year done, so what's next?

Another year done, so what's next?

I'm not one for New Year's resolution, but when the year ends I do like to take a moment to pause to reflect over the past year, and to think about what my hopes are for the next year.

For me, this achievement this year was being able to do yoga consistently for one year. I started it, hoping that I would learn a bit about discipline, and one year later, I'm pleased to say that, thanks to an amazing teacher, I've learned about devotion, and practice several times a week.

In 2016, I'm hoping to continue with yoga, and applying it's lesson to everyday life - being calm in the face of adversity, laughing at myself, and being kind to myself and others.

What about you? What are your highlights and achievements of 2015 and their hopes for 2016?

Have you met @Mazarita ?? Mr you know who who is looking over my shoulder correcting my spelling is happy to announce that I spell her name wrong all the time

@Mazarita has taught me to slow down and read peoples messages thoroughly......

My other friend is @Appleblossom. She is very clever and plays the piano.

My husband is a member we got @NikNik blessing...... but he doesnt come on really. He babysits Arlo.

YOu will like him though, the Mr you know who.........His name is @LittleBuddha ......I'm married to him....

You already are a wonderful soul.

Now, are you going to stop isolating yourself? You have so much to share to people. And you live in Tasmania......

Re: Another year done, so what's next?

Thanks @PeppiPatty. I didn't know that BPD goes hand-in-hand with high IQ - i can't think of any reason why it would. BPS is the most searingly-painful horrific condition. And i have been completely free of it for a year. It is like getting around limping with a large open wound in your torso whilst everyone laughs and prods at it. It's horrific. And i have been free of this formerly-almost-constant searing pain for a year now and it is a full-on 'unbelievable' miracle.

I can't think of any reason why BPD would be accompanied by high IQ. I do actually have a fairly high IQ but I inherited that from my parents. The BPD was defintely caused by abuse in my formative years. Poor crazy bug lady - BPD is horrific, but then, all mental illnesses are horrific, more or less. but, of course, there is a way through. apart from my often being in a totally-self-indulgent bad temper, i have (arguably) the perfect life - i wish i had a little more money 'tho, but really, i have a ridiculous amount of the stuff (i order take-away quite often - the pension in australia is surely the most generous in the world) and enough work (almost, and of course, i can get more work, particularly if i keep positive) and good health, etc. i have not been hit by a tornado, burnt down or flooded out this week (sorry - that's probably not very funny). anyway, all's good x 🙂

Re: Another year done, so what's next?

@PeppiPatty - yes, paper mache is very therapeutic, i think, because you are getting your hands in all that cool, gooey stuff - and it's working with your hands, which is actually the best type of work. not sure how one can work without their hands, 'tho - it actually says in the bible to work with your hands, which makes sense, of course - i'm just wondering what work one can do that doesn't involve the hands. hmm. an interesting question.

i've been watching 'rage'. there seems to be so many forgettable songs on it. i love the classical fm channel in the mornings often, 'tho, and throughout the day, sometimes.

can't wait to get that four-hour shift at the charity shop - going for the interview on monday - they can't discriminate against me much in four hours a week! thanks for that tip again, @Mazarita! 🙂

Re: Another year done, so what's next?

@MoonGal i hope you are not lost, but if you are, you can certainly be found.

@Loopy - i realise i'm a bit monotonous on the topic of God and Jesus, but you would be too if a bona fide miracle happened to you. i have been boring and cheering up the whole neighbourhood and all correspondents since the miracle (in between being very bad-tempered 😞 and feeling sorry for myself) and i am at this site for a number of reasons - for fun (i like to make myself and others laugh), to connect with people generally, to connect with my 'peers' and get and give tips for how to live a good and enjoyable and productive life given our unique situation, and to prosetise, which i can't seem to stop doing anymore! 🙂

Re: Another year done, so what's next?

@PeppiPatty thank you! (i think you were talking to me in the post i'm thinking of?) yes, men are wonderful people but they seem not to realise how heavily the law favours them. i'm not sure if i want to settle down or not any more but that is partly about 'my stuff'.

a good friend of mine told me that communiction is key in a relationship - it may well be the hardest thing to do. there's probably a lot about healthy communication styles and techniques on the internet. i went out with a wonderful man for a while (we actually weren't suited closely enough, 'tho, but we're still friends) but he had chronic jealousy - it created an enormous problem in the 'relationship' - we were sort of more like inter-dependent friends overall than a couple. anyway, i'm raving this morning. i'm going to make a coffee and watch the news. god bless 🙂

Re: Another year done, so what's next?

@Terry. It is not that I think much about your comments. I have suffered from ptsd for over 30 years but I don't talk about my symptoms or causes , my time in this forum is just joining in, enjoying contact with other MI sufferers, the odd stupid comment, joke, pictures, poems and advice . My advice is given through my own knowledge learned over a long period of time and reading the posts of others on this forum without whom I doubt I would still be here. Over the years I have been to hell and back and these wonderful people here are my saviours and I hope friends for life.💓

Re: Another year done, so what's next?

@Loopy i just snuck back online to send an email of apology to a very nice person who deserved an apology from me (i have sent it) and i saw your post.

you can't rely on yourself or others, only god. people let each other down, but it was the day i let myself down that i really started thinking about 'what it all meant'.

anyway, have a wonderful and blessed day. i seem to have new apologies to make to people every day - i really feel that i must do better than this as a christian. being housebound is silly too, and self-indulgent, and also the product of some bad decisions. going out today and to church. catch you all later x 🙂

Re: Another year done, so what's next?

@Terry . This is starting to get a little personal. I can and do rely on others as would every one on this forum. Hence the assistance of the forum. It gives others in need someone to talk to express how they are feeling and , hopefully, be by the responses. By sharing our feelings and what we do to overcome our daily troubles especially those of us who are unable to mix with the mainstream community or are by some misfortune are unable to leave their sanctuary because of THEIR fears.

I love (virtual) everyone on this forum. I will not comment further on the subject of your GOD.

@Terry You have no need to apologise to me, after 20 years in the Police force there is nothing I have not heard.

As the old saying goes,

there is nothing new under the sun.

@Terry

"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom."

Jeeeeee I will have to remember the spell checker.

@Terry As far as I am concerned you have done nothing to upset me in any way. I am a believer of this

"
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." Voltaire, I think.
