Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

Struggling atm. Just want to chat, distract my mind. Mum has depression, recently discharged from mental health clinic. I can see she's not well but she internalises. We are usually so close but she just wants to be on her own, doesn't want to engage in much conversation. Perhaps I'm feeling sorry for myself as I miss our relationship. I can see that my depression and anxiety is increasing, which is making it harder to cope. Feeling alone tonight.

@Bella1978. Glad to hear you will get some meds for your anxiety. Sounds like mainly you cope with it yourself. But as you say, things with your mums health are pushing your anxiety high. So yes would be good to have them there, for when you need..
20 years old doesn't matter. It's always good to look at something nice. Lol.
A high tea with your mum sounds nice. And once she's feeling better, she'll probably really enjoy it. But this Saturday is you and your friends. No need to worry about mum.
Looking back I had symptoms after the stroke - of loosing words and memory. But at the time my gp and I thought it was related to an awful medication my old psychiatrist put me on. But yes, it was a silent stroke in the sense that I didn't feel it or realise. When they did the scan on my brain - there is a 5cm straight line of dead brain tissue. Fascinating. Just wish it wasn't my brain I was looking at.
An eeg - yes that can look for signs of epilepsy or tia's as well. So is good she is getting it done. Hopefully it will come back clear.
It's strange because my physical symptoms or body reactions to my anxiety have changed. I never used to feel paim on the chest. Never felt I was having a heart attack at all. When I have a panic attack it's normally yhat I feel that I can't breathe and that I will die from not being able to get a breath. Luckily I only get about 2 panic attacks a year now. Before my therapy I used to have multiple attacks every week. So much better now.
Pizza is my go to take away. Yes our small town has pizza, fish and chips, chicken, kebabs, McDonalds and a number of cafes and restaurants. Obviously even small towns like to eat. Lol.
Yes you will have time to do your hair tomorrow morning.
I have the Uncles arriving tomorrow to help me with my garden. I'm meant to have cleaned up my house today, before they arrive, but I haven't. It's a real mess. But I feel exhausted. Might do a little later tonight and early tomorrow morning.
Hope you have a relaxing night.

@Bunniekins @Shaz51 - I'll join in whenever you hold it. But I can't help organise or run it. That's beyond me at the moment.

@utopia

Hey sweets, yeah, I thought good idea to have some anxiety meds on hand. Ive been pretty lucky as I haven’t had anxiety for a long time but since all this stuff with mum I have been waking up with it, and finding i struggle during the day at times.

Haha, yes he is a bit of eye candy. If I lost some weight I might even have half a chance haha! Feeling a bit on the tubby side these days.

I know Saturday is for me and my friends. But I will spend time with mum in the arvo. I’ll bring cake and we can have coffee and cake. It probably sounds strange but im not keep on buying a cake for Saturday night to have with my friends. Oh maybe I will, as im having cake with mum. Now I just gotta get to the shops lol

I guess its hard to know that the symptoms you were experiencing were related to the stroke as you didn’t know you even had the stroke! Wow, a 5cm line of dead brain tissue. You poor thing, that would have been confronting to see. Im glad you are feeling better now though luv.

Yep, I am glad she is getting the EEG done. it will either confirm or rule out certain diagnoses. And sometimes it is a process of elimination with things, isn’t it?

Wow, that would be so scary having those symptoms when you have a panic attack. I don’t think ive ever had a panic attack but have had bouts of extreme anxiety. good to hear you have much less panic attacks than you used to.

Just booked movie tix online for Saturday night 😊 think we’ll come back here and get fish and chips. More relaxed just staying at home. omg, I LOVE kebabs!!!!

Ah that’s right, your uncles are coming to help with the gardening tomorrow. Do you have a large garden?

I rang the clinic to see how mum was this evening. Nurse said she was answering very short answers, not very friendly but not getting too upset. Which im pleased about. but she wont let them take her bp which is important they do. She is being obstinate!

How has your evening been? Ive just been organising the documents I got from carers wa today and texting a friend, wasting time looking online! Starting to get sleepy now.

I might have something sweet to eat. Decisions decision, then off to bed.

xxxxxx

@Bella1978. My uncles will be here any minute to help with the garden. I'm so anxious I had to take 2 calming meds. I normally only take one when anxious. But my hands are shaking. Hard to type this.
I don't want them here now. But they have driven 3 hours. But I feel like I'm going to cry.
I don't like people coming to my messy house. I don't like people being here.
I'm turning into a real hermit.
Not feeling good.
