Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI
So glad to hear there will be a review of your mum tomorrow. Will be good to have input from all the staff who look after her. Hoping it's favorable.
I met a lady once in the psych hospital who had a spoon tattoo and she explained that concept. It's very true isn't it. Yes I think I met my quota last Thursday.
I think I've known for a while that I will always have this MI. But Thursday it was confirmed out loud by my psychologist. Was devastating to hear. Because I was denying that knowledge to myself. To have it said out loud, means I must acknowledge it and accept it.
I thought the first km was hard. Lol.
My body is sore. I'm beyond tired. Had a good deep sleep. Only to end the sleep with a nightmare featuring my ex manager.
Am meant to go and see my niece and her partner who are at mums. But I just don't have the energy - physically or emotionally.
I am drained beyond words. Think I might have a day or two in bed. Nurture myself gently. The past few daya have been intense and I'm plain worn out.
Tell your mum I said hi. I hope she is having a good day and that you both have a nice afternoon together.
Sorry this is short. Struggling to keep my eyes open. Going back to sleep

Hey @utopia
Hows your day been? Sorry for delayed response.
Aah, that’s cool, you’ve heard about the spoon theory.
Do you feel a bit more settled about what your psychologist said about your MI? I know it was a lot to deal with when he said it. ive been thinking about you and hoping that you’re slowly getting your head around it. I know it will no doubt take time though.
Im not surprised you were beyond tired after the 5km walk. Im sorry to hear you had a nightmare about your ex manager though. I don’t always remember my dreams. Its funny though, sometimes I’ll be doing something during the day which reminds me of a dream I had (but hadn’t remembered the dream before).
Did you have a couple of nurturing days for yourself? I hope you did. Sometimes we just need to do nothing. Oh how I miss those days lol! Its all good though 😊 but you were definitely physical and emotionally worn out.
Since I last messaged you, I haven’t done anything exciting lol. Mum has been a bit better the past few days which im really pleased about. I didn’t go see her today – thought id have an easy day but ive ended up being busy all day !! always good in theory hey? I’ll visit her tomorrow though. She is able to go out if she wants so, if she is up to it, I’ll take her for a drive.
Have also been trying to spend time with my best friend. Her world has turned upside down. I went over there last night after I saw mum and spent some time with her. she has so much going on luv. she needs to get centrelink sorted as she has no income at all. One day at a time I tell her, that’s all we can do hey? At least she is living with her parents.
What you been up to today? Im getting hungry, and tired. hmmmm … what to have for dindin. What you having??
xxx

So good to hear your mum has been better the last few days. And I'll bet that you taking her for drives, will become her new shopping obsession. Lol. Fill up the petrol tank.
What did the doctor tell you about her assessment and time frame for coming home? I think I remember the staff were going to have a meeting to discuss this.
I went and did a market research tonight in the big town. Got paid $90 cash which I really needed so I can get petrol to get to my psych appointment in Melbourne on Monday. Petrol in the country is sky high at the moment. So I'm putting in $20 worth each time. But it costs a full tank for the Melbourne return trip.
The market research was great. Ended up being on a topic I'm passionate about.
I'm feeling a lot better. But will talk with my psychiatrist on Monday about the likelihood of ever recovering and what I should expect. Think it will be pretty much what my psychologist said.
Oh your poor friend. It's so hard going through a breakup. And to have to move. Glad she has her parents to help her. Navigating CentreLink when feeling so low is a tough thing. She's lucky she's got you as a friend. Just be sure to take time out to enjoy things. As you're dealing with a lot at the moment.
Hope all is well.
