Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

Struggling atm. Just want to chat, distract my mind. Mum has depression, recently discharged from mental health clinic. I can see she's not well but she internalises. We are usually so close but she just wants to be on her own, doesn't want to engage in much conversation. Perhaps I'm feeling sorry for myself as I miss our relationship. I can see that my depression and anxiety is increasing, which is making it harder to cope. Feeling alone tonight.

No need to write anything @Bella1978.
I'm not surprised your anxiety has been playing havoc with you for the past few weeks. But sounds like it's increasing. May be good to book another appointment with your own health team.
You need some time out. To relax. To sleep. To watch a comedy. To simply breathe.
Please don't appologise for needing nurturing time.
I'm sending hugs ♥♡♥ & I'm here to lean on when you need that extra support.
You are not alone here.

@utopia @outlander

hey gals. just a quick check in to let you both know im okay ... well kind of! anxiety and chest pains are playing havoc atm. i had to go to shops this morning for mum. did that, but it was a struggle. have done some domestics since i got home and will go see her shortly. it just feels like everything is piling up on me sometimes and my mind just runs away with thoughts and i get scared i cant cope. which gives me more anxiety as i need to be able to cope. i know you both understand the challenges of mental illness and how hard every day things become when we are in the frame of mind.

im so sorry i havent responded fully to your messages. you are both in my thoughts during the day. ive just been so drained lately to sit down and open up fully about how things have been. i feel like a yoyo atm, trying to sort everything out and still be there for mum.

how are you both? even a quick message to let me know how you are both travelling today.

thank you both for your unconditional support. i am very blessed to have the loving and caring people i do in my life xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

@Bella1978. Of course I an here for you.
Because your stress is increasing as your mums illness continues - without a diagnosis or improvement - it might be helpful to have more regular contact with your psychologist or counselor, especially if they do CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I've found this helpful when I've been badly struggling to stop going from one awful thought to another - often catastophying badly. I've found CBT to be helpful - right then at the time of crisis - to help me correct my thoughts. Which in turn helps calm my anxiety.
Are you managing to sleep? I hope so. Don't forget water and good healthy food - with a little treat thrown in (always).
Give you mum my love. Tell her I'm thinking of her and hope that she feels like her old self soon.
Love and hugs for you ♥♥♥♥♥ too
