Fragile

Fragile

For a while I have tried to find a thread I had started when I joined the forum that could be a "home" thread for me.

Being busy about the forum has been a coping style, where I can acknowledge all my different life experiences that had been silenced. Possibly do some good and prevent things from getting worse. Like the little boy with the finger in the dyke.

Re: Fragile

Cooeeee! @Appleblossom

Always here for you.

I understand needing to be quiet about what's going on. Would love to hear about what's feeling light and how you're caring for yourself? 🥰

Re: Fragile

Thanks @AuntGlow

Cats, music, food prep and gardening and walking.

I went to the river yesterday, and loved the birdsong.

Reuniting with a nephew and finding we have LOTS in common, enough to be able to also celebrate being different, in generation and ethnicity,...

Talking with friends of the family in early stages of pregnancy. Sharing a little of their passion, hope and enthusiasm.

Being able to give wisdom, and have it appreciated.

Being able to finally receive a text from my son and go and see him this afternoon.

From scallops to abalone, ammonites to pearl

Meditate on the shapes in nature

Celebrate the diversity, but not sacrifice the human.

Remember my father leaving the pearl shell on the bookshelf, a memento after he died.

Re: Fragile

Wonderful shapes in the shells @Appleblossom . The images eventually loaded. We really need to see a place holder to say images are coming.

There's patterns in leaves and flowers and the way they're arranged too.

@Dimity

Yes there are beautiful patterns in plant life as well.

I met a lady who always wears a shell from her indigneous backgorund. It is just so beautiful, and sends my mind on lots of associations.

Hoping you are alright.

Somehow we survived a difficult day today. My son was stoic. I was far more anxious on his account, but we had some good people involved.

The reconnecting with our half Asian nephew has been very healing ... all round ... deeply influencing 4 people. I am praying for them for their futures.

Re: Fragile

Glad to hear there are some smoother patches in your rocky road @Appleblossom . i trust getting through today will give you both some respite for a while.

Reconnecting... tangible and intangible links... so vital. I've had hints from a couple of directions I should invest some time in family history and connections. Not easy given breakdowns in close family.

Pax et bonum.

Re: Fragile

Thanks @Dimity

I really dont think these reconnections could have been forced by me reaching out more. They know I was always hospitable and inclusive, from when they were little. There is a sense of right timing .... when the 4 cousins came to my Lived Experience show in May, and lots of extra connecting on the side with their own generation, but them also seeming to want my input and involvement as well. I am more than happy to let the young people have their time, and it is very satisfying when the connecting energy and caring comes from them. I also credit my son for having quietly beavered away over the last decade, keeping connections gently alive. It is also important that they do get a bit more background into their father's childhood and lives, as 2 of them were blocked from it by one brother's premature death, so not knowing him, and the lack of understnding of the mothers. There were 2 mothers, one Aussie with an ABI, and the other Asian.

I am sad at the reduced sense of life opoortunity tht my son has settled for, but there are also good things happening for him. I have more faith his episodic mania, will settle, with gradual understanding in his life journey, more than the meds. He had gotten his depot, but still had a mighty flare up, due to excessive intervention of services. Anyway, things are settling again.

Re: Fragile

💚🫂 grasping for words... the gravity of your family realignment... both the importance and the coming together.

I trust your son is feeling supported too. I sincerely hope he can find a path in the public system, where things like psychoanalytic psychotherapy are unlikely to be offered... i agree meds are limiting.
