Fragile

Fragile

For a while I have tried to find a thread I had started when I joined the forum that could be a "home" thread for me.

Being busy about the forum has been a coping style, where I can acknowledge all my different life experiences that had been silenced. Possibly do some good and prevent things from getting worse. Like the little boy with the finger in the dyke.

Insight

Cognitive bypassing

It can be helpful and adaptive...

Not polarising the feeling thinking modes.

I tend to grab a cushion as a cuddle thing and protection.... still when watching movies. It used to be absolutely essential.

I also love the dad's positing of the "bird's eye view" with a sense of ironic humour, about the "scientific understanding" ...

In touch ... body sensations

be aware of your joints and movements through space

I have been involved in body work of some kind all the way through ...

Intensity valence and opening to empathy

rigidity and resistance

eeegh ... feel the feels ... is not a phrase I like ... cringe worthy actually ... but its used by a demographic I guess ... tho I still like the content generally ...

Re: Fragile

Very very fragile. Mother's Day a triggering day for so many people.

A lady invited me to what should have been a beautiful experience, but there are issues lurking in our relationship. I spent the morning walking and talking and being light hearted, and getting along with everybody, but the lady who invited me began to patronise in the car on the way home I pushed back a bit, with humour and truth telling but it was very distressing.

Dominoes falling meant push came to shove.... Could not hide distress from son although I never cried or anything, was just mildly down and asked for time. Usually he is not up and so I was surprised that he did see me. He apologised for forgetting and tried to do the mother's day and we changed our car buying plans cos I was not up to it. I worked in guerilla garden to let off energy and get something done. Son went for icecream to cheer me up. I tried again and again to reassure him. The meal fell apart. he was too depressed and triggered by me being triggered. It is what it is. I had made a special dutch recipe I got off the internet. Very very tired of being alive. Please no dismissive comments to me.

Re: Fragile

So very distressing for you @Appleblossom .

I turned to Mary Oliver and the book opened on a brief poem:

We shake with joy.

We shake with joy, we shake with grief.

What a time they have, these two

housed as they are in the same body.

Take care my friend

Thank you so much for support and company @Dimity @Faith-and-Hope @@dimity and faith and hope. Am on phone for 1st time on this site. Not sure how to tag. Yay figured it out. Computer problems. Car problems. Plumbing probs still. Best thing new young Kenyan friend sent me beautiful links sufi chants etc yesterday. It really helped calm my farm. Yet today i am still agitated. Not had that for a while. Trying to deal with it functionally not popping extra pills. Wish me luck. No data so not sure when i will be back. Love Apple

Re: Fragile

Good luck indeed @Appleblossom . Hopefully you'll line up data soon and be back Best wishes for the untimely computer car and plumbing problems, doubtless expensive. Sufi chants sound good. A while back I discovered metrical psalms.
