Fragile

Fragile

For a while I have tried to find a thread I had started when I joined the forum that could be a "home" thread for me.

Being busy about the forum has been a coping style, where I can acknowledge all my different life experiences that had been silenced. Possibly do some good and prevent things from getting worse. Like the little boy with the finger in the dyke.

@Appleblossom

So i caught up a little

sometimes I find it hard to keep up .

You wrote.... “My new learning is not to stay in bad situations, submitting or succumbing to paralysis of decision making for too long. I am free to leave.”

Wow!!! Such Strength courage and self kindness. I love love love it. Even when I’m the horrid situation that you faced. Choosing to take the good with you. What an incredible instruistic way to learn.

Also I agree with @Zoe7

how is the paving and for those of us like me who is slow on the uptake what is the paving.

Re: Fragile

Hi @Appleblossom

I take it you're a bit fragile right now - or you were yesterday - but okay - just stuck for words

And reading is helpful - which is good

I love what @mudsum wrote about a budding sense of kindness and friendship to oneself - and I so believe those words

My thought - if we have been used to accepting what is handed out for so long - most of our lives - we are very stuck in the "lump it or like it" scenario - and we get used to such a place and I have found as I grow older that this doesn't fit my independent and sparky attitude.

When we move away from ideas of the past that no longer fit we are set free - but like a young bird on the edge of the nest testing its wings - that step forward is a bit scary - uncomfortable -

But there we go - on the beginnings of flight - the discovery of self

All the best and I hope you feel better today

Beautiful colours in that bird @Owlunar

I can go through periods of too many words and periods when I am stuck for them ... both have their up and down sides .... lol ... was philosphoical before I even heard of the word ... ha ha

I have to make the best of the situation I am in here today, and there are lot more choices open to me now, than then.

Hugs

@mudsumThank you for your enthusiasm. I am an old bird ... maybe crone ... I live a lot in my head, but also get practical every now and then. Just started on NDIS and have a new support worker and trying to be a good girl and not get depressed. Empty nesting and and giving it a bit of a tidy and remake outside now I can get into the backyard. Deciding to stay here and had skimped on paving job when I moved in 20 years ago. SO there was a lot of mulch getting walked in the house and making a mess ... boring stuff. Come Covid and lockdown and stim pack ... I thought yeah I will do my bit to help Australia's poor poor economy so I have worn a track to the stores that su-pply paving stones and topping ... not choc or caramel . .. tho it has a tan colour when wet. I also have to do a lot of physio and this is helping me be active with a bonus. Getting excited about varying the colour of my stepping stones ... old and new ... and coffee and sand and cream ...

@Maggiegets it. For most of my life I looked for organic stuff ... the weed growing in the concrete. Was an inner city girl. Not many front gardens.

Hullo @Merl

@Maggie That cuppa is wonderful ... Ta muchly.

Had a chat on msgr with old school friend last night. She has stayed more connected to smart group and went thru uni with them all. I left end Year 11. She works in a similar public service position to where I worked when I left It was sad, but real. We talked about a lovely girl/lady who took her life. Her surname and image jumped into my mind from over 40 years ago.
