those are good ways... i struggle with effectiveness of "alone" things for anniversaries and trigger dates. partly it's just not 'enough' to counteract the flashbacks but partly also because we're really limited in what we can do alone -- unless we have someone with us or our dog, we can't manage by ourselves for more than half an hour, and we require public transport if we go anywhere - which means no dog. it's good that that works for you, though!! i hope it's as peaceful a day as possible for you.

Maybe eventually companion dogs will be more welcome on public transport. I am seeing them more often.

Thank you for your very kind support and suggestion @OhanaSystem that is very kind of you. I do not use any social media at all, but I appreciate your thoughts and the referal.

I'm not sure how this weekend is going to go for me. I've put some different things into place to get through the expectations others have around the time and don't yet know how I'll be if there's any interruption to those boundaries.

I hope you can find some respite from your own cares.

Look after yourself as best you can, won't you. and let others help look after you if you can too. There are many people here who can offer a kind thought, a compassionate heart or a wise and thoughful word of comfort.

@Appleblossom yes. i need to get her certified as a formal assistance animal if i want to take her on any public transport here. its' silly. in sweden i saw a lady take a loose cat on the train!!

@Former-Member i hope the things you have in place are helpful for you ❤️ i'll be thinking of you. i'll probably be around the forums off and on if i'm not too overwhelmed or in hospital.

i tried to buy some good thick yarn today for finger knitting but i could only look in kmart and the thickest they had was 8ply.

thanks @Faith-and-Hope, that's a great idea. i never would have thought of that. i think probably a little too advanced for me still as i would probably just get confused but well worth keeping in mind.

spoke to our t on the phone today and she has booked us a bed in hospital for in case. we're going to see her tomorrow instead of waiting til friday and we'll talk more about it then.
