evolving as we go

This isn't going to be the story of how we came to be as we are. This is going to be an ever evolving story - the story of who we're becoming as we're doing it. please feel free to read along, to comment, to chatter with us here about whatever, even if you're not tagged.

Just gonna tag a few people we've been interacting with on the forums lately but please feel free to invite others in if you think we might get along! The more the merrier. @Former-Member @Phoenix_Rising @CheerBear @Faith-and-Hope also gonna tag @Former-Member - I know you're not coming out of your den just now and that's okay but if you wanted to read along. 🙂

today has been a pretty peaceful day. we went to the zoo and took many pictures. the littles enjoyed watching from inside. on the way home we stopped at KMart and bought some half price easter chocolate. tomorrow we're going to go and buy more when all the other shops are on sale too!!

even with all of that, though, we are sad. friday just gone and friday just coming are both traumaversary days for us so things are a little rough. still, there are so many good things to hold onto, so we're trying to do that.

Hi @OhanaSystem. Today sounds like a lovely day ☺The zoo is great for littles and half price chocolate is always a win!

Sorry to hear you're finding things rough. I find traumaversaries (I hadn't heard that word until you wrote it) really hard and can find myself very sad around them. Do you have anything planned for the Friday coming, if you feel like sharing?

half price chocolate is our favourite! 😄

we haven't made any plans for this upcoming friday yet really because we've been focused on getting through the good friday one, but our support service has an outing to do art that day so that's good, and usually we would see our therapist/stand-in therapist that day too. we need to see him on Tuesday as early as possible so hopefully he'll still be able to see us on Friday.

we love love love the zoo. We have an annual pass to the one that is near us and go any time we can get anyone to go with us. 😄

I had annual passes when my kids were small @OhanaSystem and they still visit zoos now as adults, especially when travelling.

yes, they're such a good idea, especially when you have kids!

we couldn't go to the zoo much when i was growing up -- we did go a few times but lived too far from (and couldn't afford) it to get annual passes. i am like your kids though, if i go travelling anywhere, i go to the zoo! When we were in the uk, we basically went to a zoo in every place we visited except leeds & manchester.

today has been rough. we're really wanting to sh but nowhere to really talk about that. rang the acute care team but though nice, they were not really helpful.

on the plus side, we were able to get lots of good bargains in the after easter sales, including some things for the littles, so they're very happy about that.

Thank you for the invitation to travel with your stories @OhanaSystem , appreciated. I also have a series of Anniversary Reaction times now and continuing to come up over the next while - I like your 'traumaversary' word very much indeed.

It's going to be rough for me too for the next month or so, but together, with all the support here on SANE I think all of us might manage to get through it.

I will keep reading along with you. Look after each other.

Hi @OhanaSystem. I'm sorry to hear today has been rough. I find it tough to reach out and have it not be very helpful. It can leave me feeling extra alone and kind of lost.

I was at the supermarket today and I had a bag of mixed eggs in my hand. I had a little giggle at half price chocolate, thinking of how great it is and remembering this thread from yesterday. And then I put them back (and now regret that). Great to hear the littles are happy with your bargains.

I remember how much I really struggled through my traumaversaries. They fall at the end part of the year and last year was the first for me. I found it so helpful to be here around people who understand. I hope it helps, even a little, to know you have here too.

Hope you and the littles enjoy your finds from today.
