evolving as we go

evolving as we go

This isn't going to be the story of how we came to be as we are. This is going to be an ever evolving story - the story of who we're becoming as we're doing it. please feel free to read along, to comment, to chatter with us here about whatever, even if you're not tagged.

Just gonna tag a few people we've been interacting with on the forums lately but please feel free to invite others in if you think we might get along! The more the merrier. @Former-Member @Phoenix_Rising @CheerBear @Faith-and-Hope also gonna tag @Former-Member - I know you're not coming out of your den just now and that's okay but if you wanted to read along. 🙂

today has been a pretty peaceful day. we went to the zoo and took many pictures. the littles enjoyed watching from inside. on the way home we stopped at KMart and bought some half price easter chocolate. tomorrow we're going to go and buy more when all the other shops are on sale too!!

even with all of that, though, we are sad. friday just gone and friday just coming are both traumaversary days for us so things are a little rough. still, there are so many good things to hold onto, so we're trying to do that.

Glad to hear our doing better @OhanaSystem. My colleague Froginthepond is taking over in a few minutes and will be here if needed. Take care. Buddy13.

Re: evolving as we go

Hello @OhanaSystem I'm so sorry you're feeling wobbly. I did tag you today I think in the Craft Corner, but you don't ever have to respond to a tag, I hope you know that. I just don't want you to feel left out.

Your crochet will come along with time. I just loved the yarn and thought maybe I could get some for myself, it's so pretty! i don't have a Dollartree shop where I am though.

Watching something distracting is a good idea. Perhaps you can find another something to watch to distract you, I don't know what you might like to suggest something though I'm sure you would have one or two things that could work for you. Maybe even sitting watching the night sky, if you are able to do that. It's cool here tonight and very dark out, a bit cloudy so not many stars visible.

I really hope you feel better very very soon.

@Former-Member

thank you. i don't mind being tagged, i just am not up to commenting on those sort of threads at the moment. this is a difficult time of year. there are almost no levels on which mother's day is not hard for us. at this rate we may end up in hospial for it.

maybe you can find the same yarn at another cheap shop? a lot of them have the same stuff a others. we don't have a dollar tree near to us usually but we were lucky enough to find it when we were near the ocean for a day out with our support service.

tday our friend took us out to see "i feel pretty" the movie. it was a good movie but i still came home and burst in tears.

******* tw for abuse & baby loss. just ignore this bit if triggered by this stuff

1. on onehand our own mother was and is abusive verbally and emotionally and we are never good enough, so it's hard sometimes trying to honour her without losing ourselves

2. our stpemother's birthday is either the 10th or the 13th. we can't agree on when so we'l probably never know. she was abusive in most ways. one year our father wrapped us with abow and gave us to her for whatever she wanted to do to us.

3. we have had two miscarriages and one of those was extremely extremely wanted. it tore me up to lose her in 2005 and now all these years later i stil lcan't move past it.

Re: evolving as we go

Oh, sweetheart, you have my heartfelt support even though there is nothing I can do that is of much use to you in coping with this. I'm pleased you went out and enjoyed the movie, even if the enjoyment or distraction lasted only for a short while.

I will not add to your own feelings by telliing of my own experiences, except to say I understand how hard the mother's day thing can be for so many of us.

Your other experiences defy understanding. I am so very sorry that you have gone through these things.

I am so very sorry for the depth and length and breadth of the sorrows and losses you are carrying.

Please look after yourself, I enjoy your company, and I know there are others who do also.

Re: evolving as we go

thank you both @Faith-and-Hope and @Former-Member

sunshower, i don't mind if you want to share your own experiences. i don't have a lot of resources to provide much in the way of support around them, but i'm happy to hear if you want to share - now or any other time.

without knowing your experiences, but taking a shot in the dark, if it's related to infertility/loss, there's a community (group) on facebook that might be helpful for you. i'm not actually a member because i don't have the resources to spare on it, but it was brought to my attention tonight. it's called "MYHCommunity" if you or anyone else reading can benefit from it.

thank you for your empathy and also for the beautiful flower pictures. they brighten the thread up beautifully. ❤️

Re: evolving as we go

I can relate to mothers day as a trigger.

Being forewarned can help me, so I will plan for it a bit.

Take care of yourself. @OhanaSystem

Re: evolving as we go

i'm sorry its a triggering day for you too @Appleblossom

i hope your planning helps it be less hard of a day for you. we're trying to plan too but it's hard because we don't have a big support network locally and most of the ones we trust to spend time with while we're like this will be celebrating with their own mothers on the day. i hope your plamnning goes better!

Re: evolving as we go

@OhanaSystem That can make the problem bigger when everyone else is off with their families ...

I have changed my sense of celebration from being dependent on other people ... so I may mark it in a quiet day ... walk or movie etc ...
