Living with Ourselves

Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Hello @myself @AlwaysMyself

I have forgotten your name now.

This is where my safe place on the forums is. I started this quite a few years ago now.

There are some sad thoughts expressed.

There are also happy caring joyous moments too

Life really.

Sorry I cannot remember what you wrote other than you would like to write to me somewhere.

Best you start first here and then I can read and reply here.

I am expecting some intriguing books.

Re: Living with Ourselves

Thank you @Sophia1 😊. From memory, I liked your perspective in posts and sense of humour, and also being a fellow essay-writer. 🤭

I am always OK to hear about sad thoughts, happy thoughts, hopes, fears - the full spectrum of emotion. Have a safe space to express yourself and be real is important.

New books are something to look forward to! What type of books/topic? 😁

Re: Living with Ourselves

Haha @AlwaysMyself

Perhaps I have found a kindred spirit.

Oh the blasted bold is at it again.

AI does not like me and taunts me.

I think that it overheard me telling my IT dept back when I worked that gremlins lived in my computer.

I constantly heard "I have never seen or heard of that happening before!" My response Ah yes you have not spoken to me before! Technology is not my friend!

What to write. Well my answer would have to be write from you. Introduce me to what you feel comfortable in sharing of course.

I was initially drawn to your energy and style with words that is a good place to begin perhaps.

Many books intrigue me.

At the same time I can lose interest half way through.

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1 I too am sorry to read that stress is taking its toll. Stress, grief is so insidious and caught my immune system off guard landing me in hospital, forced to rest and even laying there, exhausted, scared waiting for results, my girl hammered me for money with next to no concern for my well-being. I truly do have to now put myself first and am finding treatment through TCM channels very positive. The way our emotions affect our physical health and visaversa has always fascinated me. I am reminded by my girls supports that they are doing all they can to support and protect her as she is now so very vulnerable, they are battling the system on her behalf and truly there is nothing more I can do at this point except to remind her she is loved. So for now I will continue with my treatment regime, meditate, breathe, garden and float, anything to keep those toxic stress hormones at bay. I truly hope your health improves Sophia and perhaps lovely new beginnings come Spring. Don’t forget to breathe 🙏🌹❤️

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Krishna wishing you a steady recovery. I love reading how much you care for your daughter, but also acknowledge that you need to also prioritise your wellbeing first and that your daughter has supports and advocates with her instead. 🥰

@Sophia1 a kindred spirit indeed.

My dog chewed up one of my books this week. 🤦‍♀️ thankfully a second-hand crime-fiction I have already read.

What books do I currently have started but not finished...? 1x crime-fiction, 1x satirical story, 1x non-fiction workplace culture, 1x buddhist philosophy overview (I'm not buddhist, but it is interesting and can be insightful)... I think that is all? I wont allow myself to start any more new ones until I finish the Satirical Novel - im nearing the end of it. Then i will return to the crime-fiction one. And maybe start a non-fiction weird stories one too. I did get rid of one i had started because I was not enjoying it - it was a military history one.

Computer devices really do have gremlins!

And often they get scared into obedience when the IT Deptartment (or knowledgeable helping person at home) is called over. Its well known in the IT support areas 😉.

The gremlins must really fear you if they keep sabotaging it even after IT come to help!! 😆🤣 that is impressive! Lol.

Im generally pretty open to talk about anything. I just dont specify which city/town im in because the world is too small. But im eastern-Australia non-QLD time zone.

I work part-time due to my health. I am in a quasi-IT business analysis and data reporting role currently.

I love travelling and wildlife.

Sometimes I make up things to decide to be interested in, in order to have "spice" in life - for example I like ice cream a lot so ive decided to be semi-obsessed with ice cream (making it, trying locally made ones when I travel). I also decided that whenever I see a flavour of M&Ms i have not tried before, I have to buy it and try it - even if I know i wont like the flavour (like chilli, which I greatly dislike). I also try many different foods "just once".

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello again @Krishna

Your daughter's behaviour would have been hard to experience whilst in hospital. Did she know the circumstances and understand?

It is some level of relief to know that she has a team looking after her.

You are absolutely right in saying that you can at this time only reiterate your love for her.

Time for you to focus on your health and regain your strength.

We have to look after ourselves so that we can be there for our loved ones when able.

Your body is letting you know that it is time to focus on you.

Do take care , rest and yes gentle thoughts.

Thinking of you

Sophia

Re: Living with Ourselves

Oh dear a book chewed up that is devastating.

A puppy still?

Does he have any of those chewy toys or bones? Or does he prefer your possessions?

I have two bookcases and books elsewhere. I still borrow from the library and am in a book club when I can get there.

Currently focus is not there. I have a couple of books not finished but cannot remember which ones. Not good. When my health is not the best and I am worrying about other family members my concentration levels dissipate and I am noticing some confusion at times. My sleep is not good though. So I think being drained and sleep deprived is creating confusion and foggy memory.

I do like some satire but have not read any for years. Any suggestions?

I like fiction with intriguing characters and some historical connection also.

I have many Ruth Rendell and other crime novelists books. I also love Jodi Piccoult who writes about controversial topics well in a fictional style.

I also love very dry humour. I have quite a few of Terry Pratchetts.

Interesting response to the gremlins in my computer. Oh yes I even continually upset Siri.

My husband told me that I do not have to say oh yes please and thank you to her now! She disappeared for a while!!!

I cannot cope with those robot chat things though.

So you are an IT guru. Working part-time for your health is wise. I reduced my hours before I retired early.

That is strong in my family. My older son is very into IT and I have a relative who was very high up in the IT world. I can't mention much more for confidentiality.

I too am careful not to mention where I live. I have mentioned from time to time if I have visited somewhere though.

Chilli icecream hmm? chilli chocolate is scrumptious. Do you like gelati?

Travelling is wonderful and yes I love it when I am able to.

Have to get health sorted first.

I use a PC not my mobile so am not on here regularly but do receive emails notifying me about this thread and a couple of others.

If you leave a message I will reply when I can.

Nice getting to know you

Take care

Sophia

Hello @outlander

Thank you for popping over.

I know that you too like staying in your safe space.

I actually thought about you several weeks back as I started watching outlander from the beginning again.

I took your advice and persevered and watched the whole series.

I found the final a bit of a let down. I wonder if that is leaving it open possibly for another series? Seems that way.

I hope that you have sorted out your health and living arrangements as well as your work now.

Bye for now

Sophia
