Living with Ourselves

Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Re: Living with Ourselves

hello @Adge

There are some truly incredible places of nature in this world....not possible to go to all of them...

can use our imagination though can't we...

have you tried playing a game of cards lately?

How are you tonight?

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @outlander

I am very tired...

I went to the library where once there I realised that I had not brought back all of the borrowed books...an assistant there renewed them for me....then I borrowed some more....

I went to the post office and posted a birthday card to my mum...she will be 92 next week...don't expect any contact....

I am proud of myself for still sending a card....I am living by my standards...

I then investigated a new store in town and had quite a chat with the owner....I didn't come across as confused or agitated...was quite composed....nice to feel like that again...has been awhile now...

I am realising that so much anaesthetics and painkillers are still coming out of my system....my body and mind are still adjusting....so am better understanding what acute recovery is about...

Needless to say I felt very drained when I got home...

I am now feeling emotional...sad....not really sure why...probably still a carry over from everything...

I can understand how you would have been very concerned when your hand swelled up again...It is hard when we are making progress and then have setbacks...

How are you feeling today?

I will probably have an early night tonight...

Re: Living with Ourselves

Yes, so far I've only been most places in my imagination @Sophia1

I love beautiful nature pictures, even though I've not been there.

I have seen some wonderful natural sights, several decades ago (not at all recently).

Sorry no cards yet, although I have just invited my neighbour today (for this weekend). It was my turn for our reciprocal invite...

She likes to sit & talk, & munch savoury nibblies (& sweet wine). That's what she offers me, just what I like.

I don't have any wine at my place, but she seems happy with a cup of tea. I'm gona make sure I stock up on some extra nibblies.

It may sound sad, but she's the only visitor who comes (every few months). Except for my friend 2 hours down south, who I see 2 or 3 times a year.

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @Adge

That does not sound sad to me at all...

I think that it is lovely that you have friends who are willing to visit...

I was making arrangements to meet up with a long term girlfriend whom I had not seen for 8 years...Since I moved into the hills.....I met with her in the city a few times ...she does not like driving all the way up here....

then I was hit with my diagnosis and after surgery am not able to go out for a meal or drink let alone drive for over an hour each way...

So ...I have to be patient and remind myself that the time will come...

enjoy your evening....

Re: Living with Ourselves

I hope you enjoy your evening too @Sophia1

I cannot drive for 1 hour either, although it's expected of me in my job.

I hope you are recovering, I know it's been a long & painful process (journey)...

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @Sophia1 you are sounding tired. You seem like youve accomplished quite alot today. Not easy by all means so well done. Im proud of you too xox.
Having pain meds etc wear off and starting to feel some more effects slowly is really draining isnt it. Have you still been swimming?

Im sorry your feeling emotional. Is there anything i can to do help ease those feelings at all? ❤

It is worrying about my hand but specialist isnt too concerned at this point just more watching and keep prgressing. I can wiggle my fingers now. I cant bend the broken one but i can move it. Theres progress there.. just very slow.

Hugs 💕💜💙💛💚💟

Re: Living with Ourselves

hello @Adge

thank you ....I know that you are fully aware of long term recovery ...in your case multiple operations...

take care

Hello @outlander

I do physiotherapy drawn up exercises in the pool two hours a week now....I have hired an exercise bike as can't stand up for too long or walk...so progressing with that...is soooo boring...I have my music on full blast...

sounds very sensible advice about your hand...slow steady progress we all get told ...we just have to stop being so hard on ourselves and listen...

as far as helping you are doing more than enough by dropping in on me every day...very much appreciated...

I feel more calm sticking in this spot just venturing out every now and again to talk to @eudemonism as we have communicated for so long now....

I see that you move around a fair bit always offering your support...I hope that you can find a place where you can rest and feel at peace...

goodnight all passing by...
