Living with Ourselves

Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Dear @Sophia1

Keeping low profile. Gently coming back from crisis.

To quote from your song.

There should be laughter after pain
There should be sunshine after rain

@Bunniekins

'The giggle at a funeral' .... like that.. especially if you were really there with me.

So glad you are back and IN FORM on the forum.

I had a funeral this week, but it was kind of sad bittersweet, lovely as it meant my old friend was no longer struggling with dreadful deterioration of dementia.

@Jacques

Love as always.

Apple

Yes those were the two sentences that stood out to me...

I sing it to myself and find it soothing..

Sophia

big hug

continue with the gentle time..one day at a time

Re: Living with Ourselves

I have family ancestry from Prussia....the german side..

There was a duchy with our family name just above northern italy..

@Jacques

We can always cut the hamburgers into quarters...that might make it easier for your dad..

I have to say I find them very messy to eat also...Always have heaps of serviettes on hand..

Yes you can have a look at the paving...He has nearly finished the side path...

still has the verge sections and then garden paving from driveway to outside room..

A walk would be nice...Bring warm clothes...I have a water proof jacket that also acts as a windbreaker (still feel it though) hood up...

Catch you when you arrive ..

hugs to all of you and family

Sophia 💛

Prussian...german on my mum's side @Jacques @TAB @Adge

english my dad's side and possibly irish..

Dad would not eat hamburgers , pies, takeaway full stop..

When he retired...he used to play chess on his own..

He learnt to touch type and received a certificate which he was very proud of..

He started to play the trombone at one stage....thankfully that did not last...drove mum mad...

He also learnt to speak german by listening to an LP these days called vinyls...

He was in a photography group when he was still working in the city.

He loved to walk like myself...

He also played golf..

He smoked pipes...I have them all..as well as his cameras..

He read Irving Wallace and some world war 11 books..

He had many interests..

My unwell mind comes from my mum's side...

I find that very interesting as she was not supportive at all...did not talk about it with me at all..Also told me along with my sister to forget about my son...as would upset me more and affect my life!

No unconditional love there....only love with conditions....control...

time to log out..

read my book

redirect my mind

take care all

Sophia 💛

Enjoy your bike ride in the sun @Anastasia xx

Re: Living with Ourselves

Yes father was more Prussian as was from eastern border so they tried harder to be 'German' as deep down prob knew they weren't really German at all lol
Father had no interest in anything at all outside money and politics oh and discipline and fear of 'looking bad' to others
He did read some non fiction and fiction from WW2 he had Gunner Asch books, bit surprising for him
Think he had PTSD esp by behaviour up to his early 50s he was really not all there @Sophia1

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi @Sophia1

Just letting people know just a small part of why I've been largely absent from Forums - Just a part of what's been happening....

I’m doing a 3 day Traffic Management Course starting tomorrow (Monday).

Completing 13 hours of Pre- Traffic Management Online Inductions has kept in a state of exhaustion & overwhelm, over the past week or so.

That’s because I pushed so hard to get through (complete) – at DES’s insistence.

I virtually ran out of food & essential supplies – Yet had no energy left to go shopping for groceries.

Then there was (is) the 7 week Disability Job-Ready Course (Intake) starting Monday 11th of October (tomorrow) – In direct Conflict with my 3 day Traffic Management Course.

I have 12 year’s experience working in Disability Support – 12 year’s experience in Horticulture (Environmental Management Post-Grad).

Yet have not obtained on-going employment, since Covid Redundancy.

So I’ve now missed out on (had to decline) that Program.

I am also missing out on a Call Centre Job opportunity – because of being streamed into Traffic Management, by the DES.

I can only clearly decide (make a Somewhat Free Choice) – When one choice is Not in Conflict with Something else.

Otherwise I often Default to what came first – Or Agree with the Person who was Most Insistent.

That is what has happened in this Case.

There were several conflicting things, all at once.

I now feel in Conflict – However I proceed, or whatever I do.

However – Traffic Management, Here we Go (fingers Crossed)….

hi @Sophia1

Oh my mums side is dutch and irish, a bit of a worry, lol.

wow, your dad sounds very intelligent, i have never figured out how to play chess, to complicated for me.

oh dear, music is one of those things you eather have the touch or not, i never had any musical tallant, they made me use the triangle in primary school, i hadto ring it once and i couldn't even do that. oh well, can't be good at everything.

oh i love vinyls, i have nearly 500 of them, some of them even signed, i have the signed beatles box set and the signed elvis presley box set.

my dad was a professional photographer, he used to do weddings and had his own photo lab, i used to work ther after school and on weekends. i loved it.

my dad loved music, martial arts, running, sports. he was a heavy smoker too, i don't know how he managed sports wiith his smoking, he tried so many times to give up but couldn't manage it, it must be a european thing.

im so sorry things are not good with your mum and sister, hugs my friend.
