Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

Re: Living with Ourselves

hi @Sophia1

lol i have the same thing happen with my phone, i sit it down and forget where i put it.

yes, i was told i was faking mental illness ot get the dole and that i am not sick enough because i don't/ can't cry, it has a long long way to go. i do hope they can improve the system or rebuild it completely.

yes, i am very lucky mum is so supportive, i think she blames herself for all the things that happened to me over the years, and she feels she is not a good enough mother.

im sorry to hear your son is struggling with relationships. this one im in is my first, so im learning as i go, i met her when i was 34.

i think we would have got on well too, we seem to have a lot in common, i don't have any friends, i pushed anyone i knew away a long time ago, 20 years since i have had a friend.

oh dear, im so sorry to hear about your garden, i hope you where able to save them, i hope you where not hurt too, that can be dangerous especially with anything heavy falling. the weather seems so much more extreme these days, we are getting a lot of damage from storms too.

yes, my grandad and uncle had farms, they lost crops but most farmers these days have them insured to cover the costs, animals perishing is part of country life, i had to help my grandad when i was 6-7 put down some sheep that got attacked by a fox, it is upsetting, and difficult thing to do.

i hope you enjoyed time with your son on monday night.

hugs my friend,

Jacques

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @Jacques

I was appalled to read about some imbecile who said that you were faking your symptoms..

I think about so many many people who have been ill treated in what is now considered a compassionate world..

The world is full of egotists who are often heard to be spouting about donations and support offered....all to inflate their egos and for what they feel ...to be seen as humanitarian..

Discrimination and Racism are rife in small, rural towns...even in hills where there are small towns...not that far from the city..

I will delete this message once you have read it....

My point is that I do wonder if he is on the autism spectrum which was not known about or aspergers when he was younger and I took him to so many specialists...never a diagnosis..

He has such a gentle nature and makes friends easily because he is very generous and kind, caring..

I raised both of my sons to accept people for who they were, not their appearance ,difference, culture..

They both are very good with people with disabilities and have friends from different cultures..

Older son even more so as has never worked so when going out has periods where he spends time with people who have or are rehabilitating from drug/alcohol..have physical disabilities either from birth or brain damage

I understand your mum feeling guilty...a natural response from a good mum as maternal instinct is to protect and care for our children...even when not our fault we hurt to see ours hurting...

You sound like a very sensible, caring, young man with a beautiful heart..

Please honour your attributes and talk kindly to yourself..

You have achieved so much...far more than successful people working who have not experienced the hardships that you have...

I wish that I knew you in real life Jacques...I would be honoured for you to come for a meal with your girlfriend and meet both of my sons or at least younger one if older one not up to it.. There would be time though..to meet older son when ready..

We can imagine at least...

Keep on being you and know that you are far more than most...more than you realise..

Love our chats..

Hugs my friend

ps I would have been traumatised by witnessing the demise of that sheep at even my age now..very difficult for you..

I am upset when I see wildlife on the side or still in the middle of a road..

I will come back and delete some of this once you have responded.

Some members on the forums disagree..

I am writing this to you though not others..

Re: Living with Ourselves

hi @Sophia1 i really hope you didn't get into trouble sending the last post, i can so so relate with you and your son re mental health care, things get so out of control before mental health service eeven gets involved, it makes me so so sad to hear your son has been so distressed.

you where speaking about autism and asbergers, i have often wondered if i fit into one of those catagories and so has mum and dad and my family, i was diagnosed with ADHD but i think i was mis diagnosed, and the ADHD symptoms where more related to the childhood trauma as it only happened a year after i was tourtured by a nun.

my aunt has schizophrenia so i really understand how difficult it must be for you coping with your son especiialy during episodes, it is so scary and confusing, i really hope both your boys can find there way in this world they sound like they are amazing.

please be proud of how much you love and care for your sons, you are an amazing mum and your boys are so so lucky to have you, i would like that too, you are an amazing person and it would be nice to sit down and have a meal together, and meet your family and you meet mine.

i hope you had a good day today and i hope the sane moderators where gentle with you. i understand the trauma you must have been through in your life. it is good to talk about these things even how difficult that can be sometimes.....

hugs my friend

Jacques

Re: Living with Ourselves

A very poignant, sensitive reply from a lovely young man

@Jacques

Your mum is a very good mum also...she is there with you..

I love the fact that you can laugh together..

That is something else my older son does not laugh properly...more a slight pleasant quick sound...where the lips move into a slight smile briefly..

ADHD has been so overdiagnosed and labelled incorrectly...There was a boy in my son's class whom was prescribed special medication...he basically became slowed down in movement, thinking...so sad to see..

i think at the time his parents were separating and this probably exasperated his behaviour.

I am so sorry that you did not receive appropriate trauma counselling at the time ...

It is never too late..

There is a grief and trauma line also called RESPECT..

The decision is yours my friend..

Yes you possibly might have been on the spectrum also..

We can imagine having your mum and dad(still alive) with yourself and girlfriend; both of my two sons for a bbq this Sunday ...how does that sound?

Let me know which foods you like and dislike for alll of you in your next response... what your preferred drinks are..

We can have some imagination and fun if you would like to..

many hugs to you all

dear jacques

your friend and her two sons

💜💚💛

ps I edit some of that post and think yourself if you want to edit some of yours...
