Living with Ourselves

Living with Ourselves

hello @eudemonism @eth @outlander @Bunniekins @Mazarita @Silenus @NameUnknown @Grasshopper3 @patientpatient @soul @Former-Member @Determined @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Friendconnect @Teej @utopia @Queenie @Appleblossom @Zam @perseverer @Janna @Owlunar @Former-Member @Former-Member

First of all I wanted to let you know that I have conversed with all of you at some stage on both sides of the forum..

It was my intention to close two of my threads and change my name in the kindest way for all of you...

I commenced this process on the 12th March and today is the first day that I have access to actually post or respond to anyone....I was in the last couple of days able to register a new name and like some posts...

I am so sorry that my profile ended so abruptly that was definitely not my intention....

In fact if I had done it my way.. instead of thinking would be better to be guided through the process....I would have just written on one of my threads my reason for closing my account tagging you all in....then requested account to be closed and username put to bed so to speak

I have chosen to take this path in order to protect my family's sense of safety .. privacy...health..

Please let me reassure you that this has nothing to do with any members on here...

I have tagged each and everyone of you because you have given me support and invited me into a little of your worlds...priceless experiences...I have felt heard and valued on here....Thank you all so much..

Moving forward ...this is who I am now and hope to be able to converse on the forum living in the now not the past...therefore no mention of my previous username necessary...

If you do not know who I am...that is fine also...perhaps all of the above is not relevant for you..

take care

as always only respond if it will help you...I understand too many threads can be overwhelming..

These pictures that I post from time to time are part of my self-care...setting personal boundaries strategies..distractions..connecting with reality...nature..

They are not about discluding others..

take care all 💜🙀

@Sophia1 to me the photo symbolizes mental illness (the black dog) being helped across a deep and dangergous river to recovery by the help that is family, firends, professional resources and of course the black dog itself etc(the elephant).

Dear @Sophia1

I agree with @Bunniekins and would like to add, I see the elephant wading through a vast sea of emotion symbolised by water. Both possess specific gifts which have merged to travel their chosen path.

Elephants are family orientated so protecting the dog while travelling appears natural. The black dog seems focused on what lies ahead with instincts on high alert to warn the elephant if trouble comes, also protecting his companion.

More importantly though, they both show trust in each other; an unnatural situation appearing quite normal.

It's a great pic @Sophia1

Re: Living with Ourselves

@Sophia1 there's some great articles online regarding dealing with family/friends who battling with mental illness. It would be good to see positive change and progress for all. As for myself I'm drifting in and out of thinking styles... drifting in and out of each depot phase, feeling terrible, getting over the hill, coming good and then bam-it starts again... I'm still having thoughts of great repentance and resentment... i think this is just about realizing the mistakes...

@Sophia1 The elephant pic to me represents someone has your back. Always a treasure when you find it, though rare, at least for me. Sending warm thoughts.

The illness of society against the illness of the individual...

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hi @Sophia1 I'm feeling guilty and fully ashamed of some of my past actions in my teens years tonight. It's a terrible cycle which really destroys me. The thought of people knowing.. the thought of what they thought.. the associated guilt and shame.. it's been happening for around 13 + years now... and i think I've buried it deep under negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours + addictions... i think making mistakes is an ongoing thing-i never quite learn properly and my ways about me always seem to let me down... somedays i feel i just wanna disappear off the face of the planet so i never have to face it properly + It's basically unpacking stuff and i think I'll wanting to/needing to do it for years to come if I'm gonna get to the bottom of my issues and besides this. I'll probably still be faced with a challenging life...
