@hiddenite I had spiders in the car ... but I was lucky it wasnt a scary Huntsman. I too ambivalent about killing them so they lived in the mirror bay. Isnt @Jacques amazing the way he keeps coming up with fantastic solutions for life's challenges?
You are amazing too with having fixed up old cars.... Yes I like the paradox of "Better than New" too.
When I did mechanics things were a lot simpler than they are these days ...I dont pretend to be able to do it now and I know a few male mechanics who wont touch new cars or do tradie things. Its not just about being practical.
Tradies have a lot of us over a barrel in the way they can charge like wounded bulls... but everybody seems to charge a lot these days ... we all have to face it ... fact of life ... and I love a good tradie.
@Jacques Can you believe I was so ambivalent about using pressure pack cans I almost had panic attacks if a fly got in and was buzzing around a student during lessons. I would use my arms and wave them away. One student asked me why I didnt use spray ... I said I didnt have any ... but thought I should go and buy some because the kids were often little and frail ... I felt Really guilty about it ... used it very sparingly over about 5 years .. and when it finally ran out didnt bother replacing it. I do finally have flyscreens front and back now so its not usually a problem ... ahhh the things we fret about. ![]()

Hi @Appleblossom, thank you for posting here, i always welcome friends.
oh yes, it is amazing what is important to us is silly to others, i have panic attacks when i go out wondering if i locked the screen door, like that is going to make any difference, or i have to have my cutlery facing a certain way when i finish a meal.
yes i don't like harming insects either, but i struggle with flys and spiders, i just have to have them out of the house. i will try to move them without spray, but sometimes their is no choice.

After I sprayed with fly spray I kept asking kids if they are ok as I am worried they get allergic so easily these days .. so often we dont know what is the right thing to do. Its not a put on either - I have seen their little eyes puff up with my cats ... it is such a different world, with different standards, to the one I grew up in.
Cheers ![]()

@Appleblossom, i don't know if you are into natural stuff, but you can buy citronella or sandlewood candles/sticks that repel flyes, they are all natural, so no one will be allergic, you can even leave windows open because they do not like the smell of it.
This natual stuff may put your mind at ease, no one will be allergic, their just maybe some people who don't like the smell. please give them a try
here is the link to some products

Good luck @Appleblossom, i hope this helps

Hi My angel,
I am so glad to help my best friend, you did so well, please let me give you a big hug for being so strong.
yes i got a few hours, but woke up with another panic attack, maybe i do dream and don't remember, that is what is triggering them, i don't know.
Oh Karen, it is ok to be scared of spiders, you are only 1 of millions of people who are scared, it is ok to be scared Karen, i do hope you sprayed your car, overnight it will get rid of the huntsman, please try, i do this with my car, it works a treat. Most likely the spider has gone anyway. Maybe put a big shoe in the car!!!! 😄
Oh Karen, i knew you would struggle, you have had such a big day, you did well just going, please Karen you are not an embarrassment, it is uncomfortable i know, but it is part of our MI, would you be embarrassed if you had a limp from a broken leg? or a scare from an injury?, Karen, try to be kind to yourself, you have accomplished so much today, please look back on it and see you did well, try not to focus on the small things that went wrong and look at all the achievements made.
OMG Karen, you have 2 little scientest's on your hands, OMG They are so smart like their mum, i could only manage C's and D's, i did not do well at school, but excelled at TAFE. Karen i hope you gave the girls a little reward for being so good. how they managed is amazing, they seem to struggle this year, but they managed to do good. you should be proud of them and proud of yourself, it is you as well who help them with their schooling, i am so proud of all of you.
Karen you have two great children their, they are going to be amazing strong women when they grow up, just like you.
