Some social problems are casued by other people who need to grow up and learn to accept people as they are.
I know you have isolated yourself, @hiddeniteI have done that too a lot, and sometimes it is the only way to get through really tough times.
You are definitely NOT a freak, but a sensitive woman who has been abused and is struggling to carry on as single mum with traumatised kids.
Also there may be more understanding out in the world than you think ... as inclusion and rights of disabled people are coming to the fore .. though I cant make promises ... you would know if you have read my posts.
I just feel it could open your world a little and get your body moving and breathing in constructive ways ... sometimes people in those groups are wonderfully supportive and you dont need to say a lot .. for me it was Tai Chi that helped the most as I prefer the movement to the staticness of yoga.
I wouldnt want you to take on stress of socialising when you arent up to it, but have you thought ,,, bugger what they think ,,, its only in their small minds anyway ... and do what you need to do,
I can remember my hands visibly shaking from stress while doing up shoes of my girls after dancing lessons ... someone noticed and politley backed off ... I was mortified .. but nothing bad actually happened because of it. It is weird as it is possible to almost be invisible in society ... just doing the daily stuff and not making waves or being rude ... people will leave you alone if you want it ... but eventually after many years ... I felt great peace being surrounded by people on public transport ... I guess I found a sapce in myslf where I could forgive "humanity" for not knowing about my family's pain and not caring. It helped me let go of my rage that nobody cared.
Take things at your own pace ...

Hi @Jacques
Lovely to see you and @hiddenite
Hope you are both able to find your own inner calm. It is possible to grow it a bit with meditation, prayer or mental imagery ... just a little bit at a time. it might get hidden by stress or sadness but once therie is a little grain of sand in your heart that is calm ... it usually can be be found again.
