Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

It is a massive thing to admit you have a drinking problem @Former-Member - exceptionally brave of you and the first step to helping yourself - do not underestimate how courageous a step that is.

Crying so much. Thanks @Zoe7 I have tried to get help, but it's not helpful, if that makes sense You are too kind. I was awful and I regret that. I've had a successful career etc. now I feel useless Not sure how to get on top

Re: My special place

I think like everything else for us @Former-Member it really is baby steps. I remember last week (I think it was) you passed by a bottle shop and did not go in - that was a massive step. You will slip up and revert back to what you know occasionally but then you get back up and start all over again. Overcoming an addiction takes time, strength and support - and certainly cannot be done overnight - so find the support you need and give yourself time ....and that strength will come.

Re: My special place

Thankyou for understanding @Zoe7. You know what I mean. D has practically gone and I have no life. Pathetic really.

Re: My special place

It is a really difficult time for you with D @Former-Member but it is maybe also a good opportunity for you to concentrate on yourself for a while too. It certainly won't be easy but having that extra freedom to do things for yourself may actually be a blessing. Could you think about volunteering somewhere to get you back out in the world (COVID determined of course).

Re: My special place

@Snowie I think I know how you feel. I've distanced myself from family for similar reasons. It's tough I feel really alone. 🥰
