Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Grrrrr @Snowie ...... my MIL was like that ......

The thing they fear is invalidation, so ignoring her as much as you can does exactly that, but it is necessary to invalidate that sort of controlling emotional abuse .....

In that sense, it actually shows that you being in treatment is achieving something ...... she is very uncomfortable ....,. And part of that discomfort is likely to be knowing that her behaviour will be discussed as a part of the hour recovery therapy, I would expect. She knows that you are in a position to blow the whistle on her.

Blowing the whistle on my MIL was the start to disempowering her. Unfortunately my hubby’s mi issues re-empowered her, but that is on borrowed time ...... once it is understood that he is so unwell and she has been fully enabling that, she will be sitting there with her own invalidation card in hand, and nowhere to play it ......

Hey @Snowie - Zoe7 & F & H have given you fantastic feedback and support; there's not much more I can really add to that. She's being deliberately narcissistic when you at your most vulnerable, so of course it smarts. But it's her problem to own & deal with, not yours. Focus on all the good things you are doing for you. If you can't come online we all completely understand and I usually come her to talk to you any. Don't wo5about my thread or me. Take care if you. This hospital admission is supposed to help you. Don't put things in the way to hinder it. We'll support you regardless of whether you are physically here or not ok.
