Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Today has been one of those days where if something could go wrong it did.

I so much just want to crawl into bed and pretend like the day never happened.

The thoughts just keep coming, one after another.

Re: My special place

Today started of nicely. Bit of a sleep in, both kids home.

Went to lunch. Well picked up mum before who was in a bad mood b/c she'd been waiting since breakfast for me to pick her up even though I told her we were doing lunch.

Made a snide remark about next time just leave her in there and forget about her.

So overwhelmed with so many people around. I knew it was going to be busy. Should have prepared myself for it a bit better. Took prn to try and help settle.

Saw someone from my past. Flashbacks didn't stop, wouldn't stop. Just wanted to leave but couldn't. Luckily they didn't see me so didn't have to talk to them.

Glad to be home now on the couch snuggled up under the blanket. Don't want to move until i head to bed.

Hi @Shaz51

I know she can't help being like she is, but at the same time it's not my fault. I try and simplify things for her but it doesn't seem to be helping.

Having a cuppa now

How has your day been?

Sending you understanding hugs 🫂 @Snowie

For me , we went to SIL's for lunch where there was 7 adults and 2 small children

Lunch was nice , will put my diabetes levels up for sure

Brought some leftovers home for dinner

Mr shaz does not like to stay long as family members talk doom and gloom the whole time

But came home , sat on the couch with a cuppa

Re: My special place

Glad lunch was nice @Shaz51 You are allowed to treat yourself every so often hon.

Leftovers sound even better, no having to cook.

I'm with Mr Shaz, sometimes family drama is hard to handle.

I'll join you with the cuppa!

Re: My special place

Hello @Snowie,

I realised I responded to you over on Bow's thread, so just bringing it back here. 🫶

I am glad that things are okay and that you've been able to stay safe. I understand that things are up and down right now, which I know can be really tough. What do you imagine might help with the ebb and flow of things at the moment?

It sounds like some time for you will go such a long way. Please let me know how your therapy session goes. 💛

Re: My special place

Thanks for the reply @AuntGlow

Really I'm just trying to keep things simple and the same for now. Trying to keep things as normal as possible. Taking one day at a time.

My sessions with psych went ok. It got very intense at one point and I started to shut down and dissociate. My psych knows me well enough to know when I do this and brought me back into the room. It's sessions like this where I feel exhausted afterwards. I struggle to even drive home.

I've come home to a cuppa and the couch. Hoping to be able to just stay present for the rest of the day and take it easy.

Re: My special place

Don't need a reply, just a rant.

Today has been one of those days where you wish you didn't exist and it's not even over yet.

Where you just want to hide from the world and ignore everything around you. Where even if you do try, it just doesn't seem to make any difference. Where when reaching out for help you just get dismissed and set aside. Days like today highlight just how crap life can be.

Re: My special place

Totally agree, @Snowie - days can be tough. And today may be no different. Hearing you.

That's why there's wisdom in what you said yesterday - to take things one day at a time. Tomorrow will be different - another day. 🌞
