Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Hi @tyme

Home with hubby today. Was invited out but didn't want to go. Don't want to deal with people.

Not doing much, staying inside. About 45 today. Tomorrow's meant to be even hotter.

Very thankful for air conditioning.

Hope you are keeping cool

Re: My special place

Yes! Hot tomorrow! I just turned the air con off because it was getting too cold. I was in the pool with the kids this morning and went out for starbucks...

It's definitely good to be home, esp when it is hot!

Oh, I should add that I spent the morning trying to get one of those squishy sticky toys off the ceiling that the kids threw up there! It was so hard! I ended up with a sore arm and sore neck! LOL. Sorry, that's my little whine for the day.

@Snowie

I was out this morning and there were hardly any cars on the road. The kids start school this week. I guess you don't have to worry about this because your kids are big now? Hasn't your youngest finished?

Re: My special place

Besides H I'm not in the right head space to talk to anyone in person. Too much effort today.

The air con is certainly staying on here @tyme

Hopefully we don't have any more fires near us.

The pool must have been so nice to swim in this morning. Our close neighbours had a pool so we just used to go there but they moved last year, so no more pool😭

Yes, first time in about 15 years that I don't have to worry about school shoes, books, uniform!! Bonus too, no more school fees😀

I wish we had a Starbucks or some coffee joint near us. Closet we have is a few small cafes, but have to park and get out of the car. No drive thru!

Re: My special place

Hahaha... that's amazing! And soon, they will be able to drive you anywhere you want! It's so true.. no more unifroms, school lunches, homework, driving them to school, school fees @Snowie

Maybe you should put that money into a little special account for treats! After all, you've done the hard yards in raising them!

At least you have hubby to speak to. That's special in itself. Sometimes I think about who I'd speak to when I'm older....

Re: My special place

They both drive @tyme so that's good. Can drive themselves to uni and work. No more late night pick ups. Only problem is I worry about them driving now. Well not really them, but other idiots on the roads.

The money saved is going into our next Reno.

I'm very lucky to have H. Without him I don't think I would have gotten through anything. His good too when I say I can't go anywhere on certain days. Doesn't push me.

Does your brothers kids start school this week?

In response to: Re: My special place

Re: My special place

Yes, the kids start school this week.. well the two older ones. The youngest is in her first year at school so I think she starts a week later. So it's the beginning still for them. @Snowie They still have many more lunchboxes to make!

It's good your kids drive - as long as they are responsible for the car and the fines that come with it! And yes, it's the idiots on the road we have to me careful of.

Do you have an ECT booked in? I know you were concerned your hubby would have to take time off to take you.

Re: My special place

Thats exciting that the youngest is starting school @tyme

All of them there now.

Do you have to do any school runs?

I told my kids not to ring me if you get pulled over or get a fine. You deal with the consequences of your behaviour.

Thankfully no fines yet!

I have ECT booked in for Friday. Atm it's ok, it's only 1 day every 4 weeks. My pdoc was talking about increasing it. That's when I worry about H taking more days off.

Re: My special place

I do school runs when I'm free. Not regularly though. My brother in law does 4 days and my sister does 1 day. @Snowie

Hahaha. Good on you for saying that to your kids. If it's a fine, they deal with it.

It's like today, I said that if the kids wanted starbucks, they would have to pay for it. The two younger ones said yes, but the eldest opted out. I don't want them to think everything is 'free' or they become so ungrateful for everything.

All the best with the ECT. And I guess you'll just have to cross the bridge when you get there in terms of if/when you have to increase ECT.

Re: My special place

Kids need to learn early that everything costs money @tyme

We told our kids we'll pay for their rego and insurance for their car for the first year and then it's up to them. Son has quickly realised that petrol is expensive!!

I'm hoping that I can just hold out on more ECT till my psych gets back. I haven't seen her since last year. She comes back mid Feb.

Re: My special place

Hahahah @Snowie .

My parents never bought or paid for anything to do with our cars. Nor our uni or anything. There were three kids so my parents said if they help one, then they have to help the others. So no help to anyone lol.

We learnt. And yes, petrol IS expensive!

I've saved a lot since getting an electric car. Haven't filled in 1.5-2 years. I used to spend $120 a week.. and that's being conservative!
