My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Hi @AuntGlow

I don't know what I need. I've just has a hot shower. Has helped relive some tension built up.

I do know I need time out but that's not going to happen for awhile.

I think it will be an early night. Hopefully I can get a better night's sleep tonight.

No appointments tomorrow (except for blood tests in the morning) so hoping it can be a better day. Well I can always hope

Hot showers help so much, don't they? @Snowie

I hope that sleep comes easily for you tonight, lovely.

When you are able to get time out, what do you want it to look like?

I will check in tomorrow to see how your day is going, but until then, is there one small loving thing you could do for yourself to help it be a better day? 🥰

Re: My special place

Hi @AuntGlow

Sorry, I ended up falling asleep early last night. Must have needed it.

Time out for me is just having some time to myself. It could be just watching tv, it doesn't have to be anything significant. Just a time where I can put me first.

Today has started out ok. Got my blood test done, got to the supermarket and have just made a big batch of home made sausage rolls.

The house smells nice!!!

No appt.s for mum today which is a bonus too.

Re: My special place

That's okay @Snowie!

You really must have been tired... Do you feel more rested?

I am sure that would be really grounding for you. Is there a moment for this space today?

Oooh yum!! What flavours did you work with?

Ah, that must be a sigh of relief. 🥰

Re: My special place

Got a better night's sleep last night @AuntGlow so I think that has helped face today too.

Still had some flashbacks during the night, but not as bad as the night before.

I've been able to have some 'me' time today which was nice. Read some of my book and wrote in my journal. Both which helped a little. I get absorbed in books, so a nice way to give my brain a break.

Made chicken curry sausage rolls. I always use the same ingredients but never measure them out. Normally just a bit of this and a bit of that. Seems to work!

Hubby wants me to make veggie soup (is my Nanna's recipe). Might be a tomorrow job.

I hope you have had a good day.

Re: My special place

I am really glad to hear this @Snowie.

Ah, that sounds lovely - what was the theme of your journaling session? And what book are you immersed in at the moment?

Oh my gosh, YUM!

And nanna's recipes are always the best, aren't they? My nan makes a mean potato bake.

Today I went to the osteo and then took myself out for brunch, a slower self-care day. 🥰

Re: My special place

Hi @AuntGlow

I have no theme's in journalling. I normally just write what is in my head, good and bad.

I do find journalling helpful in getting things out of my head. It's not the same as talking to my psych/pdoc about things, but it does help with that release. I rarely read back on what I have written.

I'm reading a book called A house without windows. About half way through.

Nan's recipe's are the best.

I've just brought a 'family recipe' book. Started filling it up with all my families recipes and from hubby's family too. Some go back generations and some are one's that I've created.

Having a 'can't be bothered day' today. Trying to tell myself it's ok to have those days.

Last night was a disaster. Been awake since about 3am.

Glad I have my psych this afternoon.

How is your day going?

Re: My special place

Hey @Shaz51

I think we need those days. Whether they are called that or maybe 'pj day' or even 'couch day' we totally deserve them!

I did have to get dressed and get out of bed to take S to school, but have now made a nest on the couch.

How are you going?
