Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Practicing conversations would be beneficial @Jynx

If you are anything like me, I avoid conversations as much as possible. If I see someone down the street I'll turn around and walk in the other direction.

Only time I feel a bit comfortable is if H is with me and I let him do the talking.

Even growing up I hated having to talk to people

Re: My special place

@Snowie usually depends a lot on the person - I would definitely cross the street to avoid some people! But if they're on my level I am someone who can't shut up 🤣

But I do often prefer to communicate via the written word. It's why I've found my home on the forums methinks!! Do you find conversations like this (i.e. where you can pause and think before saying anything) comfortable?

Re: My special place

I find written conversations so much easier @Jynx and less anxiety provoking. I can get myself all worked up when I have to have a conversation with someone.

Lots of times on the forum I will write, then delete what I've written and write it again.

When I ring LL or SCBS I know I'm not safe. Thats why I like their chat's.

It has taken me a long time to feel comfortable with my psych and pdoc to say what I really need to say. It took ages for me to tell them about my past.

I am often the one in the corner at a party, the one more comfortable with their own company. Even growing up I was like this. Always seen but never heard. Always the 'good child' and never argued back.

Re: My special place

It sounds like part of you is content with protecting yourself in this way @Snowie but part of you is regretful that this is how you were raised? I am really glad that you have this space to connect and be yourself hun, that is so important hey 💜

Haha I do the same, write out big chunky paragraphs sometimes then like 'oh no wait that might come out the wrong way' 😅

Re: My special place

I was never the social one @Jynx As a child I had little friends. Could never connect with people. Still don't have any friends. The only people I connect with are hubby's friends.

I think with CSA as a young child it did have a big impact with how I portrayed myself. I don't think I'm regretful as to how I was raised. More about what happened to me.

Haha, this is my third time writing this.

Going to head to bed. Thanks for the company and the chat. It's nice to connect with someone that 'gets it'. You have helped me more than you realise.

I hope you have a good night and weekend 💗

Re: My special place

I get you, it would have had so many ripples and created so much turmoil. I am glad you do have hubby's friends to connect to sometimes.

That warms me to hear @Snowie thank you for saying. It's my pleasure honestly, always love chatting with you.

May your sleep be restful and your weekend be what you're needing. I'll be about tomorrow n Sunday if you wanted to chat some more 😊

Niiiight!

Hi @tyme I hope your day has gone well.

Just had tea for my nephews 18th Birthday. Saw my brother for the first time in about 4-5 years. Quite a few there so tried to stay away as much as possible. Brought back lots of flashbacks. Prn helped, still helping now.
