Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Hugs my dear. Maybe it's okay to let it flood out now @Snowie ?

I'm sitting with you. Even if you don't say much, we can sit alongside each other today.

Have you been reading anything interesting lately?

Re: My special place

Maybe it's needed @tyme Not comfortable with it, but I guess it has to happen at some stage. I'm just worried if I can't control it.

I'm reading a book called 'Lets see what happens'. It's about Marvin Rees, the first mayor of Black African heritage of Bristol. About 1/4 of the way through it, but it is good so far.

Do you read much?

Re: My special place

Yes, I read whenever I get the chance so I'm always looking for good recommendations @Snowie

We are here if you need company. I can see things are a bit raw.

Re: My special place

Most of the books I read are autobiographies or self help books @tyme Not really into romance/sci fi/fantasy.

I like reading about people's lives, especially when they have come from adversity. I love when you get lost in a book. Gives me a break from myself.

One of my goals this year was to try and read more. So far it is going well.

I think not dealing with my thoughts and emotions will affect me, but at the moment I don't feel like I can face them.

Re: My special place

Hey, if you feel you can't deal with the thoughts right now, that's okay @Snowie

I honestly feel distraction has its place. It's not totally 'bad'. When things are challenging, distraction does work.

And at other times, moving towards the hurt helps with recovery...

That's my thinking.

Re: My special place

I agree that distraction does have its place @tyme It has certainly helped me get through the day.

I know moving towards the hurt can help too.

I guess it is just a matter of dealing with these things when I feel I'm in a stable/safe place to do so and with someone I trust.

Re: My special place

Absolutely. I feel that too.

There's a place and time for everything. It's about knowing when you are ready for it. @Snowie

Go slow if you need to.

Re: My special place

Just had to fee the tribe @tyme!!

Luckily I had cooked earlier on today. Teenagers can certainly eat!

I know I need help with moving forward so will have to wait till I see my psych again. Just have to get through each day until then.

Re: My special place

Yes they can eat! As parents, when the kids are little, they always worry about their kids not eating... then when they are teens, parents feel like they have to eat their words and wishes... @Snowie

What'd you cook?

Also, go at your pace. Sitting with you.
