Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Thanks @tyme

Do you ever feel worse coming out of a psych session then when you went in? Have more questions than answers?

Absolutely I have @Snowie !

I worked out that for me, there were two reasons for this:

1) It pushed me a little out of my comfort as part of the recovery process

2) I was pushed too far, beyond my threshold which meant it was detrimental

Over time, I learnt to recognise which one it was so that if it was leaning into the latter, I'd be assertive and tell the psych to stop.

Re: My special place

I don't think I was pushed too far @tyme that it was detrimental. But I do think what we talked about opened some flood gates. It felt like for every step forward there two backwards.

I don't blame my psych, I was the one who brought up the topics. She just dived a bit deeper than I was prepared for. The outcome just hasn't been good.

Re: My special place

If you don't feel it was harmful, I wonder if this is what is needed to 'move on'? @Snowie I don't know, but I'm thinking maybe your psych 'feels' this is a way forward?

I hear it is hard though. And I just want to say, that it may not be as uncommon as you think. For me, without the uncomfortable parts of therapy, I know I wouldn't have been able to move forward.

Re: My special place

My psych does 'push' me at times @tyme I guess I need to trust her in knowing how far she can push me.

Maybe I am just being over sensitive. Maybe I just need to give it time to see how it has helped. Maybe I am just jumping to conclusions too early.

Its just a matter of using my coping skills and self care at the moment, taking it one moment at a time.

Hey @Snowie . Perhaps this is part of the process? But know that if you feel it's too much, you have the right to put your foot on the break.

Heading to bed, that session today has exhausted me.

Re: My special place

To be honest @Snowie , I had a really crappy day so I'm just working through it now. But I'm happy to be here. The forums re-regulate me 🙂

Are you feeling a bit better today?

Re: My special place

I'm so sorry it has been a crappy day @tyme

If you need a chat, I'm here.

I haven't given myself time to feel today. Kept extra busy. At least the house is clean! And the dog!

Been sitting down for about the last hour and it's starting to flood out.
