Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

@Snowie I don't think it ought to be the goal of anyone to 'get used' to crappy treatment. Especially, especially from their parents.

I am conscious of the time, so I don't wanna go pulling a whole bunch of stuff out to unpack then skedaddle - but I offer you some questions for reflection: How much is too much? When do you get to choose you?

Good on you hun, that self-reassurance can be challenging to maintain. You're doing better than you think, I think 😉

Rest well lovely. Hugs for you - and to you too @Eve7 😊🫂🫂

Re: My special place

i'm with @Jynx no one should have to 'get used' to that sort of treatment @Snowie you deserve to be treated with empathy and kindness.

seems like your mum's placed so much responsibility onto you, and then expects you to handle it like a robot. but you are human, and just as she needs support from you, you deserve and need support from others too. (but also its unfair that she solely relies on you for everything, she might need to find more supports too!)

oh and hey @Eve7! i'm finishing up too, i hope you both have a brighter week ahead, take care 💗

Re: My special place

Hi @Jynx @rav3n @Eve7

Thanks for the support last night.

Have just spent all morning taking her up the street to buy a few things. Couldn't get them in town so had to go to the next town over. She won't drive that far.

I know that at some stage I will just break down again. I feel powerless to stop it. I guess I'm lucky to have support around me, but that won't solve the issues, nothing will. It just seems pointless at the moment.

Not much sleep last night, a lot on my brain, going over and over what I wanted to do. It's still there.

I’m sorry you are in this situation @Snowie

Can you discuss this with the aged care team and get more support for your mother? Perhaps she can get a support worker for her shopping needs.

Re: My special place

Hey @Snowie

You're right, even with the support you have there likely won't be any real change until your mum has more support and you can share some of the weight of her care. Aside from these assessments that you've been taking her to, and have coming up, are there any other avenues that have been explored to get her some aid?

And do you know when you might get more information from the aged care team that assessed your mum yesterday?

Re: My special place

I have explored other avenues @Ru-bee Have managed to get a cleaner in every fortnight and frozen meals, but it still costs money.

I did ask the lady yesterday and she said we should hear within the next month. Then the next assessment may take longer as they have a waiting list.

I just need to somehow deal with it.

No point going on about it, I can't change anything. Just want to run, run from everything

Re: My special place

Maybe it is a little bit of a waiting game at the moment @Snowie, but it sounds like some progress is happening, just not as fast as it needs to be.

You mentioned that having your supports is good, but that it can't change the bigger issues, and maybe that's true, but hopefully your supports can help to get you through this period until your mum is able to receive more support. As you said, there'll be up and down days until then, but we're here with you the whole way.

I hope today is a little better

Re: My special place

I know things will take time @Ru-bee It always ends up being longer than they say.

I can't be bothered doing anything but my brain won't stop.

Re: My special place

Sometimes we can be surprised by a quick turnaround with these things, but yes generally they do take time unfortunately.

What have you got on this afternoon @Snowie any down time?
