Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

@Snowie do you have your dog with you right now?

@Jynx yes I am using as a synonym because “overreacting” sounds negative. I did talk to her about how I feel like I’m overreacting. She asked what I would say to someone, I said something like who am I to judge whether someone is overreacting. Though I got the impression from her there are instances that people do overreact. So it got me thinking. What if I am overreacting over having experienced trauma and being annoying towards others and myself. I mean it could’ve been worse, and many people don’t end up with ptsd. Maybe she doesn’t want to say directly to my face I’m overreacting but maybe my distress has become too excessive, I haven’t been moving much lately. Maybe I’m making it worse than it was. Though I’m in a break from her for a while now. I feel like her empathy for me was stronger before and then she got used to hearing about the same shit

Re: My special place

@creative_writer just fed her and she's gone outside for a bit. Very much an indoor dog.

Not much of a KFC fan either @Eve7 Can't say I really eat it.

I think anything at 7 11 would cost a lot. But I'm sure the pancakes will taste yummy tomorrow morning! An early night does sound good.

If I could hang out in any world @Jynx it would have to be somewhere covered in snow. Just white all around me. Peaceful too. Just hearing the sounds of nature.

I think my brain is stuck at the moment. It certainly needs a reboot. Maybe with the admission it night happen.

The walk was pleasant @Snowie I’m sorry your brain is stuck right now but I’m sure the admission will help.

Re: My special place

Not sure about the ect @Eve7 but don't really have a choice. Pdoc said at least 9-12 sessions.

Just not looking too far ahead.

Any plans for tonight?

Re: My special place

@Snowie what kind of dog is she? Some dogs and cats are more of the indoor type. It’s amazing how they all have very different personalities. We have another cat that we see sometimes who is on the aggressive side and catches birds and eats them. If that cat was a human, I think she would be a villain

Re: My special place

@creative_writer yeah sure, could have been worse. Could have been better too. But whether that means you're 'overreacting' well... that's entirely up to you. Not me, not your psych, YOU.

Cos like... well ok here's my question to you - does it help? If viewing your response to this particular instance of trauma as an overreaction paves the way towards you being better able to recover from it, fab!

If however, it leaves you riddled with shame and strengthens the narrative that you're weaker or less capable because you were heavily impacted by the SA where someone else may not have been (Side note: BUT, no one else would have had to deal with the situation AS WELL AS dealing with all your past trauma stuff too; if they had, they probably would have 'overreacted' too), then it's not a particularly helpful narrative to take on board is it?

If it's the latter, maybe it's worth another convo with your psych, to try to drill a bit deeper into how your brain interprets what she's saying and highlight to her that even tho she was tryna help, maybe another tact is needed...

Re: My special place

Ohhh so lush @Snowie!! Yeah maybe a reboot would help! And also, taking the time to visit your snowie mental world when you can - building up the neural wiring so it becomes easier to access, especially when distressed.

You got critters in your snowscape? Or is it at all like Elsa's castle in Frozen?

Also hi @Eve7 👋 hope you're well! 💜

Re: My special place

No plans for tonight @Snowie just on the couch with the footy and a book.

Grandies are playing cards. It’s amazing when they’re 12 years apart in age.

I had 12 ECT sessions with my most recent admission. I think it’s helped but it doesn’t take much to flatten me. I’m just weak.

Hello @Jynx I’m ok, thanks for asking.

Re: My special place

@creative_writer she is a cavoodle. Great for people with allergies. Sleeps with me at night too!

@Jynx there are animals in there. The birds chirping and dogs too. I have photos on my phone of it.

I just have to keep going until I go in. Or maybe I am putting too much pressure on myself.

Re: My special place

@Jynx idk if I have blown the whole thing out of proportion, I’m just very sensitive when I feel as though someone tells me I am reacting too much, it triggers up the past trauma of being invalidated. I can say it was not her intention to trigger that. Likewise, I felt frustrated when she said if I wanted to have a romantic relationship, that I realistically needed to be okay to have sex with the person for it to be a healthy relationship. It feels like we have had so many misunderstandings. My way to cope was to withdraw, because I don’t want to get hurt anymore. I don’t blame her, I blame me
