Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Hi @Jynx

Just trying to get through the day. Wish there was an 'off' switch for our brain.

How is your day going?

Glad you're safe @creative_writer

H got some things from bunnings, brought the dogs some treats!!

Lots don't watch the footy, nothing wrong with that. I was brought up in a very 'footy' household.

Re: My special place

@Jynx I probably need PRN, these thoughts won’t stop. I’m not even sure what I need, it all feels chaotic. Maybe it’s just me being hypersensitive, I felt as though my psych thoughts I was overreacting. Maybe it’s just me.

@Snowie I hope you can give your baby some treats. Pets are adorable and like moving fluffy toys

Re: My special place

Can you have some prn @creative_writer? I've had some today.

My dog is certainly spoilt. Asleep on my legs at the moment.

Re: My special place

@Snowie I can, I don’t like taking extra, but if it’s needed, it’s needed.

It feels good spoiling the little ones. Our neighbours cat likes head butting us when we come home. She loves head massages, but she is feisty. If she doesn’t want something she throws a toddler tantrum

Re: My special place

@Snowie yeah I feel ya. Brain can be so loud and relentless at times ay. That's why I think I spend so much time in my internal imaginary world... can't turn off the brain, so might as well put it to work on something entertaining 😅

I hope the PRN helps @creative_writer! Yeah if you're sensitive to seasonal changes, that could deffo be contributing. Lots of inflammation of sinuses and such.

Tell me... even if it was the case that you were 'overreacting', why is that inherently a bad thing?

Re: My special place

@Jynx people treat it as a negative thing. So what happened was she said I have a tendency of minimising and maximising my trauma. Maximising is when I can’t function and do things like right now. So does that mean whenever I feel like I can’t function because of trauma rumination, it means I’m overreacting?

Re: My special place

@creative_writer my theory is the extra prn is there for a reason. I don't want to tell you what to do so the decision is all yours/

@Jynx I think my brain likes to irritate me. I struggle to find that imaginary world. That world where things are good. So glad you have that for yourself.

Re: My special place

They do treat it as a negative thing hey @creative_writer but I think that, like anything, if it's not hurting anyone else then it can't be all that bad right? Like there's a difference between the so-called 'overreacting' you're describing, and overreacting like... idk, yelling super loud at someone just cos they forgot put cheese on your sandwich or something. It's all contextual.

Besides, it sounds like your psych didn't actually use the word 'overreacting' is that right? Like, are you attributing a word to the situation that maybe does work as a synonym, but isn't actually appropriate when taking the colloquial connotations into account?

Re: My special place

Took me a while to be completely honest @Snowie but I think it's cos using our imagination is as much a skill as anything when it comes to honing our thinking patterns. It's not so much that I found it, as it is that I made it. Where would you be hanging out if you could imagine any world to spend time in?

Re: My special place

Hi @Snowie , sorry I missed your earlier post. Just walked to KFC with gs1 and gd2 on her bike to buy dinner. We must have looked a sight walking back as gd2 was “too tired” to ride back and wanted to walk with her frozen raspberry drink. Gs1 pushed the bike which barely reached his knees while old granny carried the food plus a dozen eggs (so gs1 can make pancakes for breakfast) and for which I paid an exhorbitant price at 7 11!!!😩

I really dislike KFC btw. I took a photo but won’t post it cos I’m anonymous!

Granny needs an early night.
