Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Yes she has to do placements in more rural areas then where we live @creative_writer

She starts placement in the second half of the year. She has to do them in two different fields over the next 5 years.

Are you up to much tonight? Just heating some leftovers up for tea. Can't be bothered cooking!

Re: My special place

@Snowie I feel like rural placements do provide good experience. We had the option of one, but it wasn’t feasible for me at this stage. We also have two different placements for the social work course. Mine would be very different setting, it allows us to get experience of different settings.

In self soothing right now under blankets in bed. Body flashback got triggered, not even sure why. I’ll be having dinner soon, I’ll probably just eat whatever is made. I hope you enjoy the leftovers

Re: My special place

I think any experience in whatever field is better then none @creative_writer

I remember when I did placements, I learnt so much compared to sitting in a lecture theatre.

I'm sorry about your body flashbacks, I hope they ease soon hon. Sometimes we are triggered by the most unusual things or sometimes by nothing, they just come on. Being under your blankets sounds nice. I always feel more secure under mine. Thats good that you don't have to cook.

Re: My special place

@Snowie it is true you learn so much more, particularly in professions where you are interacting with others. Teaching and social work are those careers that often require a lot of interaction with others.

I’m feeling a bit better, still sort of off. It’s just the nature of my cptsd flashbacks, I can feel like I am physically experiencing the trauma again. I just ate some dinner, I think that always helps with physical pain and lightheartedness

Re: My special place

I can understand those PTSD flashbacks @creative_writer and physically feeling the trauma again. I find it really difficult to deal with too. Sometimes I even forget where I am.

Thats when I try and ground myself, or feel something just to stay present.

I'm glad you were able to eat some dinner hon. Hopefully that helps a little.

Think I might be in bed early tonight. What about you?

Re: My special place

@Snowie it’s very difficult to feel it physically. Grounding does help, it also helps to distract, because if I hyper focus things feel worse. I’ll go to bed early ish I reckon today. Physically and emotionally exhausted right now. I’ll take my meds shortly.

What kind of leftovers did you have for tea today?

Re: My special place

No doubt you are exhausted @creative_writer It can take so much out of you.

I hope you are able to get some rest tonight hon.

I'll be taking my meds soon too.

Just had chicken with noodles for tea. Best thing was it was already cooked. Just had to heat up!

Re: My special place

Good morning @Snowie and @creative_writer ...I'm baking bread this morning in my $39 breadmaker!

Later today I have to tackle the vacuuming which always gives me an asthma attack 😣

I hope today is kind to you both 💙
