Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

I hope you get through soon @creative_writer and that they can help.

We are taking S to a career expo on Saturday, so he can have a look around at different things he can do after he finishes school. We have been to them before with D.

Besides that not much, both kids working on the weekend.

Hopefully it is nice going out with your family. It might be a good distraction at least.

Re: My special place

@Snowie I got through and it was helpful.

I feel like career expos can be so helpful for young people. Will you be doing much with your husband at home while your kids are out?

Going out can be a good distraction, but getting dressed can feel like moving mountains

Re: My special place

Got to the bank and supermarket @creative_writer so done for the day.

I'm glad you got through and it was helpful hon. I've always found them good too.

Probably won't do much with H. We sometimes go out for tea if both kids are at work but I am happy just to stay at home. Don't really feel like going out.

Getting dressed can be really hard at times, especially if you have to shower before hand! Sometimes just getting out of bed in enough. It's ok to have those days, I think we all have them at times.

Hi @Snowie @creative_writer ❤️

How're you both going today?

Re: My special place

I'm ok thanks @lavenderhaze

Got myself dressed and up to the street so that's always a good thing!

Meant to go out tonight to a friends place for dinner. Really don't want to go but hubby does. This is where I just wish I could hide.

How are you going?

Re: My special place

Aw @Snowie I get you

I am the same! Are you a bit of a homebody?

I am good, weather's been a bit gloomy lately, hoping for some sun soon ☀️

Re: My special place

Very much a homebody @lavenderhaze

Don't like going out. Don't like the small talk.

Even growing up I didn't really have many friends. Still don't now.

Not one to catch up with friends for lunch or dinner.

The friends we have are my hubby's friends.

Their wives are really nice and friendly, just not into it.

Re: My special place

Do you feel drained out after, I assume?
I have never been good at small talk either, and I still struggle with it
But I feel energised when I connect with someone at a deeper level
What makes you feel more energised @Snowie?

Re: My special place

It does make me feel more drained @lavenderhaze

It increases my anxiety quite a bit too. They all know I have MH issues, so feel judged by them a lot. Even though logically I know they probably aren't judging me, it still feels like that in my head.

My kids make me more energised. Spending time with them whether it be going out somewhere or just watching tv with them, they always help. Actually I would say that they help my MH overall.

Re: My special place

Hey @Snowie !

That's so sweet to hear that your kids energise you. A lot of parents say the opposite lol "My kids are drainers". It's so great to hear you share how valuable they are to your recovery 🙂

Hope you are okay!
