Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

@Snowie still feeling paralysed with emotions. My body still doesn’t feel 100% right, but there isn’t much I can do about it but ride the waves.

I hope you slept well last night and today is going smoothly for you 💖💖

Re: My special place

Riding those waves are hard @creative_writer both on our minds and our bodies.

Please take care of yourself.

Slept ok last night. Got hair coloured and cut this morning, well over due.

Also got pdoc this afternoon.

Re: My special place

@Snowie I just need to finalise my essay plan today for submission. We are anonymously peer reviewing each other's essay plans. Social policy doesn't occur in a vacuum in the real world.

Getting your hair coloured and cut can make a huge difference. I got a haircut recently, my ends were not very happy and I was getting tons of breakage, my hair really needed it. I hope the pdoc appointment goes well for you

Re: My special place

Whoa @creative_writer I'm glad it is anonymous. Does that mean you don't know whose paper you will be reviewing, and they don't know it is you?

Getting my hair done is really the only thing I do for myself so was overdue.

Re: My special place

@Snowie, yes, only the staff can see the names. The plan isn't graded, but the feedback we give each other and our reflection on the feedback provided is graded. I will probably just look through my plan and maybe tweak it a bit more but won't spend too much time on it since I have other pressing tasks to do for uni, one major assignment due next week.

Taking care of hair can be a hassle, but it does make you feel better. Maybe I just have stubborn hair, my hair is so dry that I use hair masks every wash instead of conditioner. Even then, my hair still benefits from good old olive oil massage before it is washed

Re: My special place

Thats good to hear that only the staff can see the names @creative_writer Means you can be completely honest without the fear of any backlash.

I hope you can get done everything that you need to.

I find it really hard to wash my hair, especially when I am depressed. Sometimes it feels like such a huge ordeal and huge task. I often wonder what the hairdresser thinks when I walk in with oily, unwashed hair.

Re: My special place

@Snowie honestly I think peers are probably going to be really nice in their feedback since we are all in a social work course.

Washing hair can feel like a difficult task. I don’t think I could ever wash my hair more often than I do since it requires so much care. I’m not blessed with low maintenance hair. Not to mention dry hair is a pain to manage. Maybe your hairdresser doesn’t really think. I feel like people think less about our appearance than we think
