Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Trying to block out yesterday's appointment @NatureLover

I would rather not remember it.

Re: My special place

Fair enough too, @Snowie

I hope you can block it out 💙

Re: My special place

My psych makes it seem so easy @NatureLover but it is anything but that.

Trying to block it out makes me think of it more. It feels like either way I go it ends badly.

Currently shopping on line at the moment. Bad for my bank balance yet fun to do!!

Re: My special place

Sometimes writing it out helps to get it out of ourselves - but I know that's traumatic.

I agree about online shopping 🙂 I stopped most of that recently as I ran out of my inheritance, but I got tempted by a patterned scarf yesterday that I know I'll wear often. @Snowie

Re: My special place

I do journal at times @NatureLover I have never written out my trauma however. My writing normally is just day to day things.

Do you journal at all?

I would much rather do online shopping then have to go to shops. Really don't like the crowds, especially with it getting closer to xmas.

Re: My special place

I agree about the shops @Snowie !

I don't regularly journal but I make notes in a document that I then give to my psychologist at appts.

However the last 5 weeks she has me doing Stream of Consciousness Writing. This is sometimes difficult but worth it. I've had some good insights from it.

Re: My special place

I've never heard of that type of writing before @NatureLover Will have to look it up. But if it helps you then it sounds like a good idea, even if it is difficult to do.

I sometimes let my psych read my journal too. Especially when I can't get the words out, I can at least let her know what is happening.

Re: My special place

Yes, I find expressing myself in writing easier too @Snowie .

The Stream of Consciousness Writing is just writing whatever comes into your head. It could be "I'm hungry" or "I'm finding this difficult to do" or "My neighbour really has problems".

Or it could be things like "I've realised I'm scared of facing my fears, that's why I knock myself out with books."

It gets easier the more you do it.

Re: My special place

It's good you can express yourself through writing @NatureLover I think we need at least one outlet in our lives.

I find what I read to be very personal. The only one I have ever let read it was my psych and even then only specific pages.

Do you read a lot?
