Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

@Snowie here for you, if you need. Would some distraction be helpful?

Re: My special place

Have been trying to distract myself @Jynx Gone through my list, not helping.

Ended up dissociating again.

Aww @Snowie that's hard. Kudos for continuing to try though. Could it help to call someone? You could give the folks at sane a buzz and ask for some support with grounding?

@Snowie Sorry today is hard for you 😞 and sorry to hear that EMDR is still challenging for you and you’re not sure whether it’s right for you. I know them flashbacks can be hard and yucky. Sitting with you

Re: My special place

I called (not sane) and spoke to someone before @Jynx yet I still can't face myself.

I'm still stuck in my head.

Thanks @Bow I'm sorry that you know what it is like.

Re: My special place

Was it a helpful chat @Snowie? You can always call again, whenever you need.

You have made it through 100% of the times you've felt like this in the past, you can do it again.

Sometimes when I'm stuck in my head, I do things to get back into my body - movement stuff like stretching, dancing, jumping around like a silly goose. It's a two-way feedback loop, sometimes we can trick our mind into feeling better by forcing our bodies to do the things we usually only do when we're feeling regulated. What do you reckon?

Re: My special place

It was helpful at the time @Jynx I still couldn't get out what I needed too. It's too painful to think about yet I can't get it out of my head.

I was going to go for a walk but hasn't stopped raining here all day. I've been up of the couch playing with the dog. She gets so excited over a ball!! I wish I had her energy.

Re: My special place

@Snowie If you need to call once every few hours, just as a way of a) not being alone and b) helping pass some time, then that is a very good thing to have in your pocket. If you can't express the full extent of what you're experiencing that's okay - it can still help to have someone to chat to to help keep you present.

You down in melbs too? It's very drizzly! I actually pulled my fans out of storage the other day, now I'm sitting here with two jumpers on and the heater going. Typical! 😂

Aww little playful doggy times sounds super wholesome! I love it. You could always spend 5 min chasing her through the house haha.

Re: My special place

I'm trying to stay connected @Jynx the dog does help. Another call could possibly help too.

I wrote down in my journal what my thoughts are. Things are still so vivid and clear.

Yes I am in Melb too. Weighted blanket and jumper on.

Re: My special place

You're doing amazingly @Snowie - even if it doesn't feel like it. Very glad you've got some fuzzy company and you're wrapped up snug as a bug.

Did the journalling feel like it helped?
