Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Hi @GeezaP
Sounds like you had a little bump along the recovery road, thats okay! Although I can hear that you are feeling disappointed 💛

Hey and you have another goal - you'll keep trying again when you run out of them.

Thank you for sharing this. I hope you can notice that you are trying 💛

Re: My special place

I hate cleaning @Eve7 I pay someone to do a basic clean and work in the garden. He is homeless and very poor so he needs the money and is reasonably cheap.

What are you studying? I used to be a uni lecturer in politics. I specialised in Spanish America especially Mexico and Cuba.

Stay well and take care. I have bipolar 1 and recently was depressed but I’m ok now.

Re: My special place

@fluffylight Yes I am disappointed but determined to stop smoking but I have bipolar 1 so it is extra hard. I am smoking less than I used to. Will try again. Stay well. I am retired so it is an effort to stay occupied. I go for many walks. Every so often i go to the pub for lunch and I like to read novels.

Re: My special place

@GezzaP just a small setback. We all have them in our own way.

What you are doing is really hard, but you do have the strength to fight it. Does sound like you had a nice lunch which is a good highlight.

@fluffylight it's something I can look forward to. It softens those SI thoughts. They are still there but aren't as intense today. Hoping tomorrow gives me a good distraction too.

Re: My special place

Hey @GezzaP , sorry to hear you didn't make it through the 72 hours. It sounds so difficult. However, it sounds like you were able to delay it longer than last time, right? That's progress in itself.

We are here to support you. Have you ever called Quitline? I wonder if they can offer any support. I can certainly see how determined you are. Good on you! We have your back.

Yes @Snowie I will get back on my stop smoking wagon soon. I’m determined. Enjoy your lunch tomorrow. It is good that you get to go out as a family.

Re: My special place

You've noted that there is other things around you that is making it hard to stop smoking hard right now @GezzaP

Walks, pub lunches and novels - sounds like a nice way to care for yourself.

What do you read?

Re: My special place

@tyme Thanks for your support with stop smoking effort. Yes I have called quitline. There help is ok but I need to do the effort. Yes I lasted longer than last time. I’d like to think I’m getting there. Because I have bipolar 1 it is extra hard. Thanks to all for your support.

Re: My special place

I read novels mostly. I especially like historical fiction. But I also like mysteries and some crime novels. Occasionally I read history non fiction.

Re: My special place

Hi @Snowie
Having something to look forward to like dinners have definitely helped me in the past with those thoughts.
Holding space for those soften SI thoughts 💛

Sounds like it can give you relief. Have lots of fun 🙂
