Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

@tyme I sit in a different place in the mornings and play on my phone. Going out to a winery today with my sister and a friend. My sister smokes so I will find it hard to resist but I am determined. Sometimes I go for a walk in the mornings.

Re: My special place

Good morning @Captain24 @Snowie Hope you are both ok. I am battling my strong morning habit of smoking heaps. But I feel stronger than yesterday. 41 hours without a smoke now. Aiming for 48 hours today that’s 2/3 of the way to 72 hours when the body rids itself if nicotine. But with my tablets that block the nicotine receptors in the brain I’m only fighting the habit. It is super hard.

I reached out again. When they say 30 minutes they really mean it.

@Snowie Did you actually get to speak to them? Or did the waiting time cut out at 30 minutes? Either way, I'm sorry to hear 😢

I hope you feel up to going to your GP appt today. You are not wasting their time. Here for you... 🫂

Thanks @NatureLover @GezzaP @Captain24 @tyme @outlander @Eve7

Got to the gp this morning. She asked how I was and I just said ok. In and out in under 10 minutes.

I know I should have said something but once again chickened out. I know I should have gotten them checked out too. I can't get angry at my supports for not helping me when I don't tell them what is happening. Just angry at myself now.

On a good note D got an early entry offer to the course she wants to do at uni next year. They only take about 30 people in the whole of Australia as an early entry student, so very happy for her and very proud at the same time. It is something she wanted so much and has worked her butt of for it.

She still has to pass year 12 but now there is not as much pressure on her.

I don't know how I can feel so happy and proud and so sad and despair at the same time. It really is a mixed bag of emotions.

Re: My special place

@Snowie At least you got to your GP appt, even if you chickened out.

Congratulations to your daughter! Will she need to move out of home to attend her course?

I hope you will be OK today and not beat yourself up...sending hugs 💙

Re: My special place

Hi @NatureLover

No she won't have to move out, it is about a 40 minute drive from our house to the uni. Or there is a train she can catch.

I think beating ourselves up is what we excel at 🤦‍♀️

Re: My special place

That’s good news for D and you @Snowie

I hope it shows that you are doing something right as a mother.

It’s hard to believe anything good about ourselves at times isn’t it? We are so self programmed to pick up on the negatives in our lives.

I hope today turns out well for you 💜

Re: My special place

Thanks @Eve7

It is hard to think that we are good enough. We are so critical of ourselves, yet can see the good in others.

Went to the supermarket, so finally got out of the house and of the couch.

Re: My special place

Do you have any weekend plans @Snowie ? I am still spring cleaning so that will keep me busy along with some Uni work.

I’m struggling with work and my heart is just not in it anymore.

Re: My special place

We are going out to an event tomorrow @Eve7 Just hubby, me and the kids. I booked the tickets about 5 months ago, so am looking forward to that. With their school and work, it is sometimes hard to find time when we can go out as a family and do something together.

It is hard when our heart isn't in something hon. Must make it difficult to keep getting up and going each day. I hope you will be able to last till the end of the year.

How much of your uni course have you still got to do?
