Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

@Bow don't want to burden you or anyone else.

You have your own struggles to deal with.

Have you spoken to D on the phone?

Re: My special place

You’re not a burden @Snowie please don’t feel that way. Here just as much as you are here for others.

I spoke to my D last night for the first time in nearly a week. She’s at her dads this afternoon so hopefully will speak with her later tonight before bed. I have missed her.

@Bow 💕

That is a long time without seeing D hon, no doubt you miss her. I am sure she misses you too. I'm glad you were able to at least talk to her.

She still doesn't want to stay at her Dads for the night?

Re: My special place

I agree with @Snowie . @GezzaP , You are doing a great job. I can see you are keeping yourself busy as a distraction to help with the cravings. The cravings will be there, we acknowledge that. Also, know that any progress is progress.

I was sharing with someone else that a researcher shared that to help with addiction/cravings, the best way is to make the things as inaccessible as possible. For some, it will be drugs. For others it might be smokes, alcohol, self-harm etc. If we make it as hard as we can to access these things, then it is teaching our bodies not to give in to the cravings - or giving out bodies 'waiting time' in hope that the urge dissipates eventually.

Any thoughts about this?

Re: My special place

Making things inaccessible makes it easier to control those urges @tyme However, when they are stronger than not doing anything, it is hard to control them. They've won today and continue to do so.

I can understand the logic behind giving our bodies and minds that 'waiting time'. That time where things hang in the balance. That time when people are strong enough to ride the wave. I wish it was like this everytime.

Re: My special place

I'm hearing you @Snowie . I reckon it needs a lot of pre-thought and planning. I've had my own experiences where an external person had to make things inaccessible for me. Sometimes we need others in the process.

We are here for you.

Re: My special place

We do sometimes need others @tyme

But asking for that help is hard. Acknowledging that things are too hard to manage by yourself is even harder. Things are already inaccessible yet it doesn't stop.

I'm glad you have those people in your life. I hope they still support you.

Re: My special place

I was alone when that happened @Snowie . Without going into too much, it was the MH system that organised it. It was so hard back then. I hated it at that time, but at least I can thank them today.

Did I tell you I had a psychologist appointment on Monday? @Snowie I was absolutely looking forward to it as the last appointment was months ago. It got cancelled. All I can say is, such is life...

Re: My special place

I'm glad you got through that @tyme it must have been hard for you.

I'm sorry to hear about you psych appointment. It is hard when they cancel them especially when we need them or are looking forward to them. I hope you are able to get in soon.

I have no one tonight nor do I have community mh. It doesn't matter anyway.

Re: My special place

The PGC will be on soon. Maybe you can join then? Even if you just follow along? @Snowie
