Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

@Snowieinjuries/illness are way to unpredictable and people have different pain tolerance levels too. no way are you a bad mother. what sport does he play?

@Sans911im not a fan of cruise ships, but it sounds like a good experience in the form of learning and nursing experience. were you an RN with alot of experince or still more in training/out of uni?

ouch, i wouldnt want a frozen shoulder! is that the one that you hurt more recently/flare up?

Re: My special place

@outlander - I'll answer your last post and switch over to rough time for a short while.

For working on the cruise ships as a nurse, you have to be highly qualified with a minimum 3years of emergency or critical care nursing. I've been a nurse 20+ years now, most of that time in critical care. Either Cardiac, Coronary Care, High Dependency and Emergency. On the ship you often work alone as a first responder, like an Ambo, so you either have to make critical decisions over the phone or on scene if you need back up and how many people you need. Also we had patient rooms with monitored beds and ventilation equipment, so sometimes you have really sick people on board in the ship hospital. Again you are alone. We do all the pathology collections and testing. Xrays, prepare medication, etc. Sometimes you have one patient, sometimes 3. You also have the emergency pager, and often get paged very regularly for all sorts of things. Lots of responsibility.

It's my left shoulder now that has kicked off. No obvious injury. Just wear and tear really I guess.

Re: My special place

It is only today that I think I have things under control enough to write about Thursday.

Pdoc went ok. Was clinical as usual. As I said earlier, keep my meds that same levels. Spoke about my tiredness during the day but he doesn't want to lower them as it might not be safe for me now. So just have to deal with the tiredness for now. Had a few work cover things I had to speak to him about and got them sorted. Asked about my SH and SI and was honest with him.

Then a few hours break and had Psych appt. Spoke about the DBT course coming up and a few other things but cannot go into detail on here. Was a hard session in the nature of the topics but got through it. Spoke also about my lack of reaching out to helping people when unhelpful thoughts overtake my mind. This is a work in progress.

I feel very stuck, much like on a pause button at the moment waiting for an intake appt. for DBT. There are a few things that need to be worked out in my normal life and I don't feel I can move forward until this appt. has happened and I find exact dates for DBT. So for now I am trying to tell myself that it is ok not to have the answers I need now, am trying to practice waiting patiently.

Today and tomorrow seems to be filled with kids sport. Slept well last night so hopefully that helps out with today. Still not much in a "talking to other people irl" mood so dropping them off will have to be enough for today.

@outlander@Sans911@Faith-and-Hopewill tag you but thanks to anyone who comes by and reads this.

Thanks to all

@Sans911stuck is hard but I know it is noth forever.

Sometimes life is all about our hopes, dreams, and doing things. Other days it is just about putting one foot in front of the other, and that is okay.

Baby steps!
