Something’s not right

Life

Life

My lil boy is not well and it's times like this that I realise how alone we are. If I have to take him into the er I need to get my little girl up as well and try to manage one sleepy child and one sick child. Then the hospital gets grumpy because you can't have another child there but they can't make me leave because my lil boy has special needs and wouldn't let me go without him anyway . It's so hard to know what to do and how to manage everything on my own. And then there is so much else happening I don't feel safe to open the door and go out in the dark. This kind of living and hiding is so unfair on the kids. When is it ever going to get easier?!?

Re: Life

Im stressed and not coping and I don't want to see anyone but the worker concerned and keeps asking me to make a plan for getting well and I don't know what that is I don't know how to be well I'm trying so hard to do all the right things for the kids but I feel numb and slow and I can't hear what people are saying to me and when I hear it doesn't make sense for a bit and it's scaring me but I'm scared to tell them that and I'm lost somewhere inside

Re: Life

Please @Former-Member, call lifeline, i think things are comming to a head, you are really struggling, i know how bad the snow ball effect is, you are going through severe anxiety, i get it too, not understanding what people are saying, and feeling numb, i get the numb thing so often, i know it is scary, but it does pass.

You do need to tell someone @Former-Member, i know it is hard, and i know you are terrified of losing the children, but your safety is so important.

i will offer any support i can @Former-Member, i know all to well what you are going through.

Try to slow things down, step outside and take some deep breaths, listen to soothing music, whatever you do try not to sit and think, this makes things so much worse. keep busy.

Be safe, Take care my friend

Jacques

Re: Life

hi @Former-Member

I'm sorry to hear you feel like you're not coping.
I think you're doing considerably well, under the circumstances, so please don't be too tough on yourself.

As Jacques said, it's important to call Lifeline (13 11 14) or Suicide call back (1300 659 467) if you feel like things are escalating for you.

If you feel up to it, it might be worth trying some grounding techniques (using your senses if that works for you) or some mindfulness techniques. This may help slow down the overwhelm going on at the moment.

I find the app 'Smiling Minds' really helpful. It's guided mindfulness exercises. Have you used them before?

Re: Life

Hi @Former-Member,

I read you are using an app to cope, i have a new one which is fantastic it is called Moodtools, it will help you cope, it has been developed by Mental Health professionals, it has a mood tracker, Information and resources, Tests to see if you need to get emergency help, a thought diary, activities to help cope and a safety plan.

I know we are not ment to advertise, sorry Moderators 🙂 but this app really helps me get through each day, it has bee nwell thought out and is quick and easy to use, i have been using it for 2 months now and highly recommend it. please Moderators check it out and see if you can be apart of the app, it will help people in distress.

Please try it @Former-Member, i do think it will help.

My thoughts and wishes are with you my friend. we are all here to help 😄

Be safe

Jacques
