Daily goals, motivation and check in

Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

Note* Ive just started this thread again so it will be visible. Once I deleted my account it no longer shows up.

please join in again if and when needed.

@Former-Member wow you've had a productive day! Enjoy your dinner and evening.

@Former-Member appointments are draining. I am also somewhat flat and low on energy. My current goals are to get dinner and leave the kitchen in a state that won't get me down in the morning! Hope your dinner and kitchen sorting goes well, and the kids are ok post vaccinations.

hi @frog - have one very upset kidlet and its going to be a long few days i think as she doesnt react well to vaccines either and it was quite a difficult thing as she's petrified of needles... dinner went ok, i did some of the sorting as i went but still more to go. im not achieving anything that i need to for anything and feeling panic starting to set in about everything. anzac biscuits are yum. I hope that the making of them is fun! my daughter loves cooking so might see if she feels like doing something in the kitchen tomorrow too as a distraction...
take care all 🙂

Ok. First I want to say thank you @Teej for this thread. It's really useful for me. I get a sense of solidarity with others here.

Today I feel sort of emotionally hung over from yesterday, which was not a good one.

I'm trying to get my head into a starting over space. Not sure how to put yesterday behind me. Maybe starting with what got left yesterday... ironing, a veritable mountain of it, and I am trying to finish a MOOC on Intercultural competence.

I hope to vacuum today, home and car. Also clean the bathroom. If I get through that it will be an achievement.

Little thing for me: doing a charcoal mask with my daughter!

Hello @Former-Member @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope and all wandering this way.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

How lovely you got to spend time doing something with your daughter, that's a really feel good thing! and good you took the time to do it when you're perhaps not feeling so good too. All these things take effort, even being uplifted takes effort, so well done you, @frog.

I hope you got some, if not all of your tasks done today, you did give yourself quite a bit to do, but I understand that too, being someone who normally loads myself up with tasks.

I managed to vacuum the house today, after not even sweeping for longer than I care to say! During the past week I took only small tasks, like cleaning my bathroom basin one day, the shower another day, and so on.

I've been too physically ill to do anything very much at all, so these small things have made me feel better overall. Learning to not do all the cleaning in one fell swoop has been a hard fought battle for me.

It's been another truly pleasant day for me, which is so wonderful after the nearly 40 years of consistant depression and anxiety overload.

I have identified the feeling I am experiencing - it is optimism. From Wiki: Optimism is a mental attitude reflecting a belief or hope that the outcome of some specific endeavor, or outcomes in general, will be positive, favorable, and desirable.

My goal is to retain this feeling throughout tomorrow.

Best wishes to all who pass this way, may your days and nights be pleasant and fulfilling in whatever way you'd most appreciate. (apologies for the ramble)

@Former-Member you sound like you're in a better space - may the optimistm stay with you. Glad to here you're chipping away at tasks in spite of feeling physically off colour. I didn't do too badly on my list of tasks. The MOOC was the thing that got left. I don't feel well today physically, so trying to allow for that. I'll go grocery shopping this morning and cook this afternoon. First thing is walking the dogs. All the best today.

Bit late for writing goals but I'm still in bed so it counts as an ok time.

- promised a colleague I'd bring in some biscuits... couldn't find the right ingredients yesterday but will have to make do.

- forgive myself for the dumb but commonplace mstake at the shops yesterday

- pokemon go raid
